Idk man, I find this kind of music really corny and annoying. I didn’t like that much when it was popular and I still don’t.
This tape is kinda all over the place and nothing really resonates with me unlike previous tapes. I feel like my expectations for this were far too high. However, I still think this is an ok addition to jid’s catalogue.
Edit: this really grew on me. It’s just such a comforting listen to me now. (Original score: 75)
This is 1 hour 11 minutes of pure bliss. When I want more at the end of a 25 song album I know they're doing something right. The production on this album is absolutely top tier, and this doesn't have the mixing issues that the last one did. This, Yeat, and $uicideboy$ send off album will make this a week to remember for me.
I like a lot of the songs on here but it barely feels like a group album. Also the mixing is awful for something this high budget.
The first 4 songs + the outro are legendary, but I usually forget the rest. It’s not that the songs in the middle are bad, but the other tracks mentioned are just so far in their own tier.
I really liked this record when it came out, but it definitely didn’t get as much play as others for me because it was overshadowed by the Don Toliver record that came out the same day. Still I really like the melancholy vibe this album goes for. These songs were made to bump in the whip.
Yeat has returned to peak form. This is the perfect balance of the experimentation from 2093, and the pure energy of his earlier projects.
I love the effort metro went through to make an album like this. It 100% sounds like it was made in 2010 and I respect that. Only issue is he filled it up with a bunch of randoms that are no longer popular for a reason. Either way, it’s still a pretty fun listen.
SWAMP IZZO. This tape feels very weird in 2025. The Wanye influence is very obvious but doesn't really take away from my enjoyment of this record.
This tape hsa some great songs, and I fully respect Thug for trying something different, but this just didn't really work. For the first half of the album it was feeling like a better Beautiful Thugger Girls, but after Bubbly hit it just fell off the rails. His flow is just all out of wack on this one.
This is prime Future and prime Thug, so genuinely don't understand how this record came out so under cooked. The highs are really high and the lows aren't the worst. The issue is the general lack of versitility or creativity from artists who basically embody both of those things. it's 40 minutes of basic trap, and the valid expectation that these two should have been able to create something greater significantly effects this rating.
This tape is so confusing, but at the same time it's probably also one of Young Thug's most career defining moments. When people say Thug uses his voice as an instrument, they're talking about this.
This absolutely carried end of 2022 for me. Something about Nudy's flow and beat selection is absolutely hypnotizing. Every song on this is iconic.
