I enjoyed this version more than the original, and I can certainly see how this is what she wanted the project to sound like from the start. Eartheater is featured on the new “Striptease,” and even though a lot of people seemed to dislike the track, I like how it helps prepare the album’s closing – especially since Eartheater is already in the background vocals on the opener. I feel like this one is more subtle than the other two singles, yet just as good.
A Música da Lagoa é a faixa mais famosa de Hermeto Paschoal, e não é sem motivos. É absurdo o que Hermeto consegue fazer – transformando o mundo em música de uma forma que só ele consegue. Totalmente fora da curva, e ainda sim ótimo de ouvir.
I think this deluxe has the same problems as the original album. It seems to focus more on being aesthetic than memorable. Still, it includes two tracks that might be the best I’ve heard from Oklou so far: viscus (feat. FKA twigs) and dance 2. They both feel truly alive and point to a more confident direction for her future work.
