I'm so new to her music, but literally everything she makes is so good, oh my god. I still want to learn all of the piano and violin parts.
Somehow it's not as good as her best known and most widely loved album. How could this have happened
It's considered one of greatest hiphop albums like ever and I can see why. I listened to it like years ago when I first started listening to Kendrick (and also hiphop honestly), added Alright to my playlist, and then for some reason just never listened to it again. So I'm glad I finally fixed that lol. The transition between If These Walls Could Talk and u with "I found myself screaming in a hotel room" and then immediately going to him screaming is incredibly funny to me.
I think it's the only Kendrick album that I haven't listened to, I don't know why I skipped over it, I guess I just forgot about it. But also I recognized a few of the songs so maybe I have listened to it? Maybe I like started it but never finished it? Overall I thought it was pretty good, not super exciting or anything but still solid. Theres the f slur a lot in Aunty Diaries which I'm not a fan of, but at least it's still pro lgbtq and he also kind of addresses it in ... read more
I absolutely loved Fall Back, so I was really excited to listen to this. I know most of the songs were out as singles before this, but I hadn't heard any of them. Love it, so excited to see more from them.
The only Kate Bush song I heard before this was Running Up That Hill, and only because of Stranger Things, but I definitely want to listen to more of her albums in the future, this was so good. I obviously have to mention that the strings and piano were absolutely incredible throughout the whole album and I want to learn them they're so good. And a JIG oh my goddddd!!! Also Waking The Witch is absolutely terrifying what was that I don't like it. That glitchy voice is so unsettling in ... read more
Really just the culmination of his whole career, it's so much more meaningful after listening to all of his other albums, but I'm still glad I'm done now lol. I knew it was coming this time, but I still got jumpscared by 29 Intro.
I'm surprised it has such a low score I didn't think it was that bad. I only have The Fall Off left, but I'm going to wait until tomorrow for that one because of the length.
I've listened to this one before, but not for a while. The album's pretty good, but other than the ones I already had on my playlist there aren't very many that stuck out to me. And there's also a reference to The Fall Off in my life? I'm so confused. I don't know the lore lol
Another one I haven't heard before. It's only 42 minutes, which I like. I hate the pain/joy lady for no reason. She reminds me of the "this is culturally inappropriate" lady from the new Clipse album. I don't like her either. Other than that this album is ok though lol. Also an intro to The Fall Off? ??? ?????
This is probably the J Cole album I've listened to the most. Idk i don't have much to say. It's really good I like it.
This was the first J. Cole album I ever listened to, but I haven't listened to it again since then, and I don't really remember most of the songs. Also this is the first intro that I've actually liked. There's so many good songs that I didn't have on my playlist, so I'm glad I listened to it again. It feels so nostalgic even though it's only been 2 years since I first listened to it. I am nostalgic for 2 years ago honestly. I loved the credits on Note To Self, ... read more
I thought I had listened to this one before because I have Crooked Smile on my playlist, but I don't recognize most of the other songs, so I guess not. And we're starting off strong with uh... Slurs. Not my favorite. Other than that I did like this album a lot though. Absolutely loved the choir on Trouble, and BOTH piano and violin on She Knows which automatically makes it a good song to me (as someone who plays those instruments).
I loved the halftime show! To be honest, I didn't listen to this album until like a day before the superbowl, but I'm glad I did end up listening to it because it's so good!!!
Ok..... I didn't really like it. I had no idea what was going on, the lyrics are either to quiet to hear or yelling, and half the time the instrumentals are just like... noise. I do like some music similar to this, but more when it builds up to like the yelling and distortion and it feels more earned instead of that just being pretty much the entire song. If that makes sense. I guess I don't get it or something because there's a lot of people who like it, but it's just not ... read more
I still liked it, but not as much as Friday Night Lights. This is another one I hadn't listened to before, but I feel like I've heard some of the songs, like Lights Please sounded familiar.
