Yes! Yes! Yes! Everything is perfect… Close to perfect anyway.
Negative Spaces fixes every problem I had with Empty Hands. I already had a small taste of this album after checking the 2026 album and was intrigued from what I heard, and I’m glad to report that the rest of the album is great and holds up with the rest. If you’re wondering what those songs were, it was the first 3.
The main improvement I see with this album is that the songs have more variety in them. I ... read more
Oh my…
The Stage has to feature A7X’s most ambitious songs to date. This is the heavy metal and former metalcore band going completely prog metal, and honestly, it works. Genuinely really out-there stuff, too bad they threw all of that away and made a more boring version of it in Life Is But a Dream… I’ve still yet to hear that one, but I haven’t heard particularly great things about it.
This album of course has a giant scale to it compared to any other album. ... read more
Shinedown may be far removed from their hard rock roots, but this is still perfectly enjoyable. Fine pop rock for the most part with occasionaly hard rock moments works. The pop rock songs have some stupid lyrics, but they're not the worst thing ever. I just wouldn't come back for 80% of this apart from the singles. Also this doesn't need to be an hour long. I have a wife and kids, Shinedown. Okay, that's a lie, but it's fine besides that.
Everyone's favorite grandpa somehow still makes good music, 19 albums in. Quite impressive, really.
It's your typical pop rock Paul's already good at, as he occasionally adds psychedelic elements into the mix that harken back to his time with The Beatles and occasional rocking out too, but most of it is laid-back rock, so it's a nice listen overall. Speaking of, a fellow Beatle gets to be on this, I'm of course talking about Mr. Peace and Love himself, Ringo Starr. I ... read more
I stand for lesbian robot sex on F.T.W.W.
How do I begin? Seriously, how do I begin? This my shit right here. It’s time for round 2.
One of the best nu metal albums and bands for a reason. I already kinda mentioned this band’s legendary status in my Iowa review, so I won’t repeat myself. This was the real debut of Slipknot as we know them. They might’ve released a demo called Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat with a different singer in 1995. The foundation was already there, they just needed the right guy for the job. ... read more
Waiter, more acclaimed pop albums please!
Emotion is still regarded as one of the best pop albums of the last decade next to Lorde's Melodrama, and yeah, it's great. It's pretty fun 2010s synthpop and dance-pop with really solid songwriting and lovey-dovey lyrics Carly Rae was already known for with her bubblegum and candy pop she was making on Kiss. I still have a soft spot for songs like Call Me Maybe and Good Time. 2010s pop really was just iconic.
Unlike Melodrama, where I ... read more
When the album is so peak that even the bonus tracks rule:
THIS π£οΈ π₯ IS π£οΈ π₯ MY CURSE π£οΈ π₯
One of the greatest melodic metalcore albums ever made. One of the most consistent too. Every single song sounds top notch on top of the already amazing vocals from Howard Jones. His voice is both angelic and demonic. He sounds like both Serj Tankian and Tay Zonday (chocolate rain guy) when he sings. It's so recognizable. The guitars are also really well performed and the production sounds really good for 2006. Oh god, this is gonna ... read more
They're just making banger after banger over here. Also this sounds like a Poppy Empty Hands song, but I can't quite put my finger on it. Something about that chorus sounds familiar...
The most consistent early death metal album from one of the most consistent death metal bands, be fucking for real with yourself. A banger from start to finish.
What do you want me to say? Chuck Schuldiner was hot with a really gnarly voice who could play really well. I love how audible his bass is on songs like Zombie Ritual and Evil Dead. Super chunky. The solos are usually just a bunch of shreddy nonsense for like 20 seconds, which is about what I expected, not my favorite part. But other ... read more
Back so soon? Yes.
It is time for me to re-listen to the pop era of Fall Out Boy. Some songs I grew up on, didn’t really like them at the time, and then softened on as I got older. A lot like with PATD. And just like that band, I don't have much to say about these.
Save Rock and Roll is still probably my favorite of the pop stuff. As most of you know, this was FOB’s comeback after their 3-year or so hiatus after Folie à Deux, which still stands as my second favorite ... read more
Two 2026 albums today, why not. For an album that's so rare to find, it's honestly pretty good.
Look Outside Your Window is the side project and long-awaited follow-up to The End, So Far by Slipknot, featuring 4 of the members from that band. Just by looking at the cover, you can tell you're in for a different time, and... yeah. The sound is just atmospheric reverby art rock with occasional industrial rock or alt metal elements. Take Corey Taylor and just drown him in a bunch of ... read more
Another pop punk band that came back in the big '26. Cue two nickels, weird that it happened twice.
Honestly, Sandbox is a good transition of the band that were hit makers in the 2000s behind such energetic anthems as Move Along or Gives You Hell, dialing back and being a bit more mellow. The themes on this album are very warm, like childhood and nostalgia. It's all super wholesome. And Tyson Ritter's voice still sounds pretty solid and isn't phoning it in like William ... read more
Omg, this was really good, I'm not even gonna lie.
DESARMONÍA is the newest album by Argentine musician and good friend of mine, Coingamer. You probably already know him. And this is by far the best album he's made yet. Now, I thought Blacklight was great, but this is a really good way to follow it up. The concept of the fairy character, Chiaura, becoming human after her wings got clipped on the song Death of a Fairy as a metaphor for growing up and moving forward is a really ... read more
It’s Lorde’O’clock yet again, bitches.
This woman really just came out with a banger right out of the gate (well, not technically. I think she had an EP before this, but that’s besides the point). Again, I mentioned this before, but this woman being in the music scene at such a young age is genuinely so impressive. Just by listening to this album, you can’t tell she was 16 at all. She sounds 20 at the very least. Pure Heroine delivers on some good old 2010s ... read more
What a humble little pop punk record. I sure hope this band doesn't become the biggest thing ever in 2 years.
Seriously though, such a good pop punk album from this band. It's just harmless fun that I'm surprised I haven't heard this in full yet. I mean, I have heard these songs at one point in my life, because how can you not, right? Grand Theft Autumn / Where Is Your Boy, Dead on Arrival and Saturday are stone cold pop punk classics and the other songs are really fun too. ... read more
I apologize for comparing Fiona Apple to Amy Winehouse last time. I was a dumbass who didn't know any better and it won't happen again.
Fiona’s debut album, Tidal, is as rebellious as it is fragile and frail. But here it feels way more raw. She was just 19 when she made this. That's as old as Lorde was when she made Melodrama. What's with young artists making masterpieces out of the blue? This continues the themes of toxic relationships along with the struggles of ... read more
The last time I listened to Black Veil Brides, it was their debut, We Stitch These Wounds. Which definitely had problems. Mostly on the mixing side. While I didn't dig the production choices, the songs were alright to pretty good.
Vindicate erases the production problems and instead aims for the general, a thing this band’s been doing for a while now. Still not really the biggest fan of this band all that much. I still think they're fine and Andy Biersack sounds identical to ... read more
They're genuinely so back, idc. It's cool to hear Corey Taylor scream again after he made Look Outside Your Window. Also he says "ragebait" at the end, which is funny. The song is also a decent commentary on social media that doesn't feel out of touch surprisingly.
