I'm not used to Drake sounding like he actually wants to be there.
Hell's never sounded this comfy! Don't kill me, even though I'd deserve it, but this is actually my first BOC album (aside from a little bootleg I got recommended) and it's pretty good! Very tranquil and grand atmospheres with a slight VHS retro vibe to them and a tasteful implementation of beats and vocal samples. Genuinely really cool tape. Very creative mix of space vibes with hip hop, with super ethereal beats and long instrumental breaks with occassional verses from fellow AOTY friends. Some performances are better than others granted, and the songs are a bit long for their own good, but this is a lot more advanced and ambitious than Fedora's first tape and it works very well.
Don't really know what to say that hasn't been said already.
I like Peggy a whole lot but this is not it. Just a really repetitive, throw-shit-at-the-wall album that feels like FUCK U SKRILLEX if it was no fun and Peggy rapped the same flow over everything. So many moments of this, especially in the first half, are just so chaotic and random that it all blends together and nothing sticks the landing.
