Can folk get any more charming than this? Hard to say.
Listening to this feels like listening to a friend playing around with the guitar and just having some fun, doing silly voices and making up stories on the fly. The lofi quality of this record definitely helps with creating this vibe, that and the songwriting, which is always very simple and genuine, but never boring. Everything comes together to give this album its very cozy atmosphere, which is what makes this album so charming. You ... read more

Nice enough dance punk record that could have benefitted a lot from a more focused tracklist. The instrumentation is really good I just wish some tracks had been longer and more fleshed out, and the lack of variety doesn’t help. Fun listen nonetheless, but there’s some untapped potential for sure

I came into this record with low expectations after I didn’t like any of the singles and I got more or less exactly what I expected. Even the big “alternative” moments fall flat for ... read more

ヨルシカ [Yorushika] - だから僕は音楽を辞めた [That's Why I Gave Up on Music]

Unfortunately suffers from the usual problem projects like this have, where the powerful and anthemic nature of every song ends up making the album feel way too same-y, but I decided to be very generous with the rating because of the concept and story of the album, which I ended up being very invested in by the end (especially during the closer, easily the biggest highlight of the album)
