WORST TRACK: Unbound (The Wild Ride)
I've always liked John Zorn's take on modern classical music. In fact, one of my favorite John Zorn composition is The Dead Man. It's so strange and hilariously crafted, that it's as if you can see the music.
On this album, the 20 minute behemoth Prolegomena really doesn't fall short of what his previous modern classical compositions are doing. It's very much akin to The Alchemist and that one was great as well.
Very solid listen. I liked it very much.

Jazz punk, baby.
Everytime I listen to this from top to bottom I get amazed as to how these guys made such a beautiful experience.
Anger akin to Rage Against The Machine, Hope akin to Godspeed You! Black Emperor... Every genre and style blends perfectly. And don't even get me started on the lyrics. They're all beautifully written.
Maruja was introduced to me by my best friend @nawram and I couldn't thank him more. This has easily become one of my favorite albums of all time ... read more
THE VERSION OF "NEW MIND" ON THIS DVD IS INSANE. Easily the best version of that song.
ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE TRACK: New Mind
FAVOURITE TRACKS: The Parasite, The Beggar, Unforming
WORST TRACK: The Memorious
Can't even begin to approach it. This album sucks. It's like, really, really bad... This is the worst thing humanity has ever been subjected to. How does one even like this pretentious bullshit? Yeah, no. I'm sorry. I can't even bear with it. It's that bad.
It sucks so bad. In fact, it's SO BAD, that it's my favourite album of all time.
10/10.

WORST TRACK: We ... read more
Broken, gut wrenching, depressing, and ambiental chamber music to cry to.
Presented here is a stripped down version of one of my favourite groups of all time: Godspeed You! Black Emperor. Both groups created by one man: Efrim Menuck.
Menuck delivers some brooding piano passages throughout the entirety of the record that keep making me reflect. Sophie Trudeau on the violin brings a touch of classical music. Thierry Amar pairs up with either musicians and flows along with the bass. All this ... read more
Not a bad album BY ANY MEANS, but in the context of their discography, this is easily their worst album.
ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE TRACK: Stay Away
FAVOURITE TRACKS: In Bloom, Breed, Lithium, Polly, Territorial Pissings, Drain You, Something In The Way
WORST TRACK: Smells Like Teen Spirit (insanely overplayed; don't like it anymore)
Yeah, no. Sorry John. :(
ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE TRACK: None.
FAVOURITE TRACKS: None.
LEAST FAVOURITE TRACK: All of them.
I can picture people criticizing this album for being long-winded, and I understand why. This is a slow album. Not in tempo, but in build up; something much akin to their previous album The Beggar. But here, you're not getting the intriguing riffs of tracks like "Paradise is Mine". Here, you partake into a journey of sound.
The soundscapes on this album are amazing. Whether it's the intro of "The Healers", - which brings me back to Soundtracks for the Blind - the ... read more
I came in here, expecting something totally different, but MAN! It still did not disappoint. The guitars sound amazing here. The lyrics are captivating. Emotional in parts, and fun in others. A perfect balance of concepts.
Queens of the Stone Age really outdid themselves. I'm really loving this record.

I'm very torn on this one.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor is, at the time of writing this review, my favourite band. Authors of one of my top 5 favourite albums of all time, and genuinely kings of the genre of post rock.
This record, however, left me pretty underwhelmed. The usual spin that GY!BE brings to the table (even though it's been less apparent on their previous effort) feels noticeably weakened. The performance here are some of the worst for Godspeed, and I was pretty ... read more
He's just a little boy! HAHAHAHAHAHA!
Spanning materials taken from experimental rock, drones, and hard rock, all matched with the lengthiness of post-rock, this album is truly an experience.
Swans brings to the table a mastery in the works keeping you in your socks. The tension building, the crescendos, the melodies... All of it flows perfectly. I also fucking love the harshness of the drums too.
This shit is in parts heavy as anything can be, in parts laid back, and in parts just ... read more
I'm embarrassed with myself for having followed this runout. I was fucking stupid.
ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE TRACK: LIFESTYLE (if I had to choose one)

I want my 52 minutes and 21 seconds back.
ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE TRACK: DO IT (if I had to choose one)
FAV TRACKS: None
WORST TRACK: All of them.
Much akin to what I'm saying for Keith Jarrett's Köln Concert, these are ear grabbing tunes to combat and soothe the savage beast.
The performance on this album, in the entirety of it's 40 minute runtime, is spot on. Every note, every plucked string, every bowed string brings a unique improvisational spin to John Zorn's tunes.
You must be concentrated to enjoy this record in its rawest state. This is not something you can put on in the background and doze your ... read more
The sheer energy of this album. The intensity. The lunacy. The maniac that is Mike Patton's voice, blasted along Lombardo's drums, Buzzo's guitar and Trevor's bass. Everything is perfect. It's the album that made me fall in love with this band, and stands to this day as one of my top 5 favorite records of all time.
Every track (with minor exceptions) is tight. It's blaring. It's screaming at you. The flow of the album rides smoothly, in contrast to ... read more
To put this record in one word: tactile.
Picture a guy facing a broken piano at an Opera House, whilst creating some of the best recordings known to man. This is what this album really is.
A fully improvised experience, and every note is struck beautifully even in the places where it shouldn't function. A fun part that really hit me was the synchrony in the crowd's claps at the end of the final two tracks. They were definitely feeling the rhythm, and stole the spotlight even when ... read more
