St. Vincent - All Born Screaming
NR

I can't grade this yet because I haven't listened to the whole thing. I'm a huge st vincent fan but I hear so many mixing/production issues on this, it's almost not listenable to me. Anyone else hear the same problems?

Clutch - Clutch

I am a huge clutch fan and this album wasn't my favorite for a long time. The thing this album has more than any other, to me, *atmosphere*. Secret bunkers underground, space-faring dodge swingers, a billion people harvesting relics to return to an elephant on mars. Most of the songs on the album album dabble in this really edgy, dark, conspiracy sci-fi that I really wish there were more movies, shows and books about. It's not just the lyrics either, the instruments and performances, ... read more

Part 1 of reviewing every QOTSA album for nobody to read.

To understand the Self-Titled it's important to realize that this album is very much trying to *not* be Kyuss. It doesn't rock in the same way Kyuss does, nor does it roll in the same way Kyuss does. QOTSA needed to establish themselves as their own thing, and this album does a great job of that already. As much as I love 18 A.D, Regular John is such a fantastic start to this album. It's so hypnotic, but in a different way than Kyuss ... read more

I listened to pink moon for maybe 15 seconds, I got confused because I thought he sounded too much like the guy that did the Curious George song. I was wrong. I know, I know. A few days later my dad sent me the 99% Invisible podcast on ND's life. At the very beginning, a snippet of three hours played and my jaw hit the fucking ... read more

"This is fucking facts. Their production is miles ahead of every other trip-hop band out there, and I adore Portishead. Kicking kelli out was a boneheaded move. If I had a time machine and could change one event in human history, it would be that."
