will be writing a review of this album v soon. have heard two of them so far. The Girl from Ipanema is 100% a 100/100 for me and Corcovado is excellent too 94/100 or so. Excited to hear what else Stan can give me from this...
fallen in love with this incredible Bossa nova album. after being skyrocketed to stardom after the internationally influential masterpiece of 'The Girl from Ipanema'. , Gilberto went on to lead a successful career spanning 4 decades. This album, however, is her best in my opinion. Beautiful and heartfelt melodies with heartwarming lyrics and Bossa nova (although I did have to spend some time translating the Portuguese) create an album that I believe is completely deserving of a high rating. ... read more
Beautiful Japanese folk-pop album. Adorable and catchy melodies, very consistent throughout.
interesting flows and beat. its pretty good but its interesting to see, now, how yachty has completely evolved into his new style which his shown through his 2023 album 'Let's Start Here'.
Interested to see Tyla show off her own style with this debut album. Although I enjoy the exciting and infectious beats of the LP, I would urge her to stop trying to recreate her hit song 'Water' and maybe become more explorative with her tracks. Overall decent, lots of exciting sounds produced, would prefer more variation.
Much like with Ok Computer, when I went into this album I already knew I was going to love it. This is because I had heard a good portion of these songs beforehand, but never in the context of the album. This whole album is such a single experience that I absolutely love every track here the same.
Instrumentally this album is very complex and beautiful, the vocals by Thom are perfect and match the tone incredibly well, and overall everything in this record works to create a masterpiece. And of ... read more
Severely underrated album from a severely underrated duo. Groove Armada is pretty self explanatory, it makes me want to groove. The two best tracks, in my opinion, are 'At the River' and 'Chicago' which I have listened to throughout my childhood as I have grown up. From listening to them with my dad while cooking dinner to vibing in my room at nighttime, these two hold a special place in my heart. Overall, they help to stick together a consistently great album from this great duo!
Kind of Blue deserves its ranking among the best jazz albums / best albums of all-time with how immaculately composed it all sounds. The good vibes it brings, the cinematic grace of it all and consistency, it just has everything one could ask for and maybe even more. Albums like this are made to be experienced more than just listening to, and with the right time of day & environment, this work of art is definitely a masterpiece in its own right.
This album is a very creative project from Rocky. I admire many of the flows he creates as he raps over some excellent beats in this album, one of these was 'LVL' where the listener is instantly plunged into a bassline that repeats throughout the track. Overall, a good release, however, it slightly pales in comparison to Rocky's previous album of LIVE.LOVE.A$AP which I genuinely love.
In my opinion, this is one of DOOM's most underrated albums, this contains some great tracks. I really enjoy the exciting and punchy tracks of GAZZILLION EAR and BALLSKIN that form a really impressive start to this LP. However, there is great variation in DOOM's performance here, among the gems of the album, there are also let downs.
This single is a fucking masterpiece. Takes some of my favourite lines from one of my favourite ones to do it, MF DOOM. Addicting bassline that perfectly forms this excellent track.
Pretty inconsistent and boring. Sounds just the same as many of her other projects. Two unusual features in Florence + The Machine and Post Malone. I was definitely expecting more from the Florence-Swift duo. Nothing stands out here, pretty shitty throughout.
I was pleasantly surprised by the sound of this album. Some tracks of which remind me of (in my opinion) their greatest album 'Contra'. I love the theme that runs throughout the whole album and it seems to have consistency throughout, Vampire Weekend, after a little hiatus, are most definitely back!!
I am addicted to this album. I truly do NOT understand the enormous disrespect that many give towards this album. I enjoy every single track of this album, from the extreme rage that I believe Ken was attempting to portray throughout this album, this album is crazy and never fails to lock me in when on Siege (I'm ass). Furthermore, I thank the producer 'star boy' for the addicting beats in this album, they go so hard. (Must say some songs on this project are severely glazed online. These ... read more
After being persuaded to review this album, I wasn't surprised to be met with a rather unimaginative album from Eilish. I often struggle to enjoy her raspy and emotional singing, however, on the other hand, I do appreciate the excellent performance from the guitarists and producer(s) of this album. I must admit, I do enjoy listening to some of the addicting beats such as the striking bass guitar accompaniment in 'CHIHIRO'. Overall though, I think that this album is yet another project, similar ... read more
