This album sounds like a man singing at a campfire alone in the woods before being sucked into his mind
This blew my mind the first time i heard it, then i listened to more than 2 artists
The best coming of age album i've heard, something about the themes of leaving home and finding yourself really hits on this album. A particular highlight is I want you to know that im awake/I hope that youre asleep, the song almost jumps out at you as the entire album shifts sonically from a very new sound back to the eralier harsh acoustic guitars in albums like monomania and twin fantasy, the fact its so self contained, all about how one bad day can appear to set you back so much, only ... read more
Much more emotive than the 2018 remaster, however i cant ignore the mixing
one of the most consistent albums ive heard considering its length, theres no skips on it, and some of Will's best songs are here (The gun song and I wanna sweat), this album acts really well as a whole look of the 'cate wurtz saga' era of csh and while intimidating due to the length is one of the better projects Will has made
Probably the best way to get into csh, but the remakes fall flat imo, the originals are just better, with the exception of something soon
While enjoyable throughout, it feels like teens of denial is missing the extra bit which makes Will's other albums so great
One of the best ever albums about love, compared to mirror to mirror, Will delivers a more retrospective look, seeing things more as an experience between two flawed people instead of the emotional climaxes in the earlier version. The album is able to able to take on a much more broad appeal, being adopted as one of the defacto albums about queer love.
