first half i loved, kinda falls apart for me after the interlude,
i do love the production throughout it, i honestly enjoyed this tape more than his album off first listen ngl lol
for demos they are solid, if these are rough drafts then im hopeful for the project
this is fun girly-pop ass fucking tunes. if you cant enjoy this then you have no twinkle in your life
its a vibe but idk man i feel like this and the kaytramine album felt like they were gonna be so big and great projects and kinda just fell flat and didnt move the needle as much as i wanted them to. theres some stellar tracks and the whole project is presented well but its just not consistent as i'd like it to be
5 years since his debut record "try again" (one of my favorites, esp the deluxe edition) ovrkast steps it up a decent amount but not as much as i was hoping for. hes gained traction and more leeway as a MC rather than just being a producer now and I feel that this record is even more of a transitional album. dont be confused though, ovrkast has real talent and im excited to see his growth over the years to come.
i think detahjae has good intentions but he needs to stop pretending that he doesn't sound like the most balant bootleg 2012 tyler and find his own footing. its not just because you use the same synths or chords that you are copying him, its the fact that everything else even to the subject matter is just the same lane of what tyler was doing 10+ years ago with no new spin or anything interesting or unique to do with it.
im glad to see relatively unknown artists blow up out of nowhere by pure talent, pure hunger, not spamming tiktoks, not trying to be someone they arent. its refreshing to see that in a day and age where everyone is worried about image rather than making good music. and i feel that is a very big reason this album is getting the acclaim its getting, because its refreshing and exciting to see an artist with this sound pop out of nowhere and blowing up. is it original? no. is it out of this world ... read more
simz is angry and paranoid but pens it down with the most maturity and clarity that you could ask for. she's on a run right now and is leagues ahead most of the game right now
McKinley finds Magic again with this record. I do think the concept couldve been a little bit tighter and more like "there" because I do feel it kinda loses its way but maybe thats something that you really pick up in proceeding listens. Regardless this record is a must listen and one of the finest of the year.
he won't be winning any grammys if he keeps making dogshit like this lets be honest now
fun and passionate chipmunk soul and thats really it. i feel these two EPs serve as such filler for the next record and he's dissecting alot of the same topics in the same ways across these last two EPs and this one just happens to be less memorable than the first one.
