David I love you but what is this

The Smashing Pumpkins - MACHINA / the machines of God

In comparison to their earlier stuff this does not live up to the quality, but taken alone it has some very enjoyable songs. Definitely where they began to fall off tho, but still not terrible

The peaks are not as good as melon collie’s, but u think it’s more consistent overall, so as an album is better, but I would come back more often to melon collie’s best songs rather than this album’s.

The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

The highlights on this are phenomenal, but over two hours there are bound to be some moments that don’t hit as hard, especially on the second disc. We are still tho in a phase where a “bad” smashing pumpkins song is still decent, so I can’t really be mad about having listened to the album.
Edit: here is no why is criminally underrated

Two of the best songs ever on the same album (mayonaise and cherub rock) is crazy work, thank god Billy Corgan can back up his arrogance. The album overall phenomenal, but a couple of moments kinda keep me from giving it a 100.
