Amazed how I didn't listen to this last year when it came out. The best album of 2024 by a mile.
Carried by Slave and a few good songs, but mostly a pretty middling rage album
falls off a bit near the end but a good fun pop album
It's official, he's washed. I had this little sliver of hope that maybe after the disaster of "Revival", and the rushed mediocrity of "Kamikaze" and "Music to be Murdered By" that Em would have gone back to the drawing board and completely reinvented himself, and he did, by becoming an annoying boomer who does not shut up about trans people and cancel culture. Without "Like That", this album would've been forgotten the week after it dropped. It's not bad, but very mediocre.
maybe it will grow on me but it felt like a generic mid 2010s trap album
A decent album held down by the fact that Trippie cannot sing to save his life. There is a reason why the song with Juice Wrld is by far the best song on the album, it's because Trippie is a much better rapper than a singer.
Good Project that starts out very well, but really runs out of steam near the end.
One of the few albums where I couldn't wait until it was over. The album cover really does a good job showing what you are getting into. A lazy, uninspiring, uncreative mess. The only goal DL had with these thing was to set up that dark, psychedelic mood an do nothing else with it. Actual BOOTYCHEEKS.
Some amazing songs on this album which sadly get lost in a whole movies worth of generic trap songs. Sad to see.
The worse of his first three mixtapes, but still a good listen which really shows the talent The Weeknd had already so early into his career.
