Very beautiful and melancholic mood in every song. Even if the vocal melodies sound a bit generic here and there, this does not dampen the very good overall impression.

Quiet an ok album. Still not coming close to the greatness of the records up to "Watershed", but for me their best effort since the change to a more retro-prog style.
The instrumental trio from Chicago is back with their seventh album. Those who know and appreciate Russian Circles will not be disappointed by this longplayer at all. The band shows itself to be immensely powerful as usual and knows how to put quite simple riffs into an exciting atmosphere like no other band. With Goes West, William Tyler continues to follow the path of American primitivism...and despite just a little bit of variety, this is very pleasing. Tyler builds up the vastness of the American hinterland in his own living room, while the listener can quietly close his eyes with a light smile on his face and listen to the ten tracks. One of the most beautiful and at the same time most modest albums of the year.
If you have been moving in the experimental rock genre for years, you quickly come to the conclusion that you have heard everything before.
