First instances of Kanye production with Jay-Z. Also in hindsight the name for that song with R.Kelly is darkly hilarious. Oh yeah this album isn't very good. But I am still excited for the blueprint.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Intro, You, Me, Him and Her, 1-900-Hustler, Soon You'll Understand, Where Have You Been
Neptunes put in a weak beat that Jay-Z understandably can't do much with.
Anything makes this slightly more bearable.
I don't get how people say this era of Jay-Z was pandering for pop rap, these singles don't even have any pop appeal or catchyness whatsoever.
Well, If there's one positive thing I could say about this trilogy is that he didn't miss with any of the intro tracks. The effort into the music for Jay's In My Lifetime series ends about there. Big Pimpin is the only real banger on this album. Jay Z's redundant cadence ruins some good beats like NYMP where something like a Wu-Tang would work a lot better I feel.
FAVORITE TRACKS: Hova Song (Intro), So Ghetto, Dope Man, Big Pimpin', Hova Song (Outro)
Why were half the album's songs singles. no song on this album warrants a release as a single
