It's not his best, Labor Days is forever a classic, but this is still a fantastic album from Aes, the production is incredible and the best song is just about his cat, it's peak
Insanely underrated, not woods' best, but it's still fairly good, the flows are pretty good, the production is either fantastic or just alright, it's a more enjoyable experience than it isn't
Not nearly as incredible as the incredible The Cold Vein, but I still really liked this album, also the cover is absolute FIRE
I'm so happy I pre ordered the vinyl because this is great
Update: The vinyl arrived, it's very nice
The album isn't even out so I'll predict my score
Edit:
I was on point

GET ME A TICKET TO THIS MOTHERFUCKING MOVIE IF THIS IS THE OST MAN
Pretty weak compared to his later releases, still pretty good
Edit: 72-93
So this is fantastic actually, it's abrasive in a good way, kind of like clipping (clipping has a very different sound but they still have that abrasive but not annoying sound) and honestly, it's better than All My Heroes Are Cornballs
Some decent flows and great production, some comedy as well, like the title says, this is a fun listen
It's a little funny, but not funny enough to make up for the absolute trash here
Absolute garbage with very few redeeming qualities, at least the JID feature was alright, at this point I feel he's just trying to be edgy for the sake of being edgy, older edgy Eminem songs while still being edgy, were doing so while playing into the character and concept of the song, in this album in the first 20 minutes or something he just says he fucks corpses, twice, he says that twice, it has nothing to do with the songs or a character he's playing, just a line about having sex ... read more
It's probably his best, and it's my second favorite, but I'm a freak who likes cherry bomb
Edit: 96-100
Nevermind... Tyler the goat
This whole thing just feels like his old hardcore era but stepped up, songs like Corso, Lumberjack, Manifesto, and more all have that old tyler vibe while also just being peak, I defend cherry bomb and goblin a lot but they are not perfect.
So yeah, fire album
Edit: 100-99
Reserving the 100 for chromakopia

Yeah lmao
Favorite jam: Smuckers (it tastes pretty good)
Favorite jams: DEATHCAMP, PILOT, CHERRY BOMB, THE BROWN STAINS OF DARKEESE LATIFAH PART 6-12 (REMIX) SMUCKERS
Worst track: FUCKING YOUNG / PERFECT it doesn't even sound bad but what the fuck are those lyrics man
Underrated, not that it's rated very poorly, but I think it's still deserving of an orange star
re-writing my de la reviews part numba 3 (feet high) for the final time, rest in peace Trugoy, you will be greatly missed by the entire hip hop community (even if I am nearly 2 years late to saying that)
Like the 2 albums before it, this album is simply an unbelievably fantastic time, I don't have much to say that I haven't said about 3 Feet High and De La Soul is Dead, the production is flawless, the writing is great, and the performances are incredible, you could argue that this is ... read more
re-writing my de la soul reviews part 2, rest in peace Trugoy.
De La Soul Is Dead is a weird album, it's this sort of in-between of the fun happy stuff on 3 Feet High and the more conscious stuff on Stakes Is High, it leans a lot further in the fun happy direction, but there are some deeper themes on here than 3 Feet High, but in terms of writing, it's still mostly the fun De La Soul we all know and love, with the same fantastic production, and the same fantastic performances, ... read more
