My favorite Thundercat album, the features are (mostly) great, and it has fun bangers like Funny Thing and Dragonball Durag, overall it's just a fun sounding record with some great lyrics like we've come to expect from Thundercat
A really fun, really weird, dreamy soul album, also I think thundercat might like anime, I'm not sure though, it's really hard to tell
Some okay tracks, but nothing mind blowing
72-99
the new songs are generational, not gonna give it a 100 though cause i already gave the original that
99-100
makes the original album even more perfect
So mid it just might ruin the tour, what tour you may ask? The world tour!
I'm completely re-writing this review, 2 things, rest in peace Trugoy, and this is a masterpiece
This is just happy music, it's impossible to get through this album without a track like Eye Know putting the biggest grin on your face, I had listened to this album a WHILE ago, and I wasn't a huge fan in all honesty, and I don't know how that's possible, coming back to it earlier this year this was one of the most enjoyable music experiences I've ever had, the iconic ... read more
A bit of a downgrade from Let's Start Here, that being said, it's still fantastic
I'm so glad Yachty was able to make another album this good, it shows that LSH wasn't a fluke, and that hopefully, he will continue to make albums of this quality, if you liked Let's Start Here, then you will like this
As always, Simbi making one of the best albums I've ever heard, while I think SIMBI and NO THANK YOU are better, this is still a masterpiece of an album
It's pretty clear these are just the tracks cut from SIMBI, still fantastic
honestly, Grey Area, SIMBI, and NO THANK YOU would be the best 3 album run in all of hip hop if De La Soul didn't exist, SAY I'M WRONG
Peggy has so many unknown singles that deserve way more attention, this one is so unknown it has the wrong cover
This album is criminally underrated, I don't remember how I found this it was probably just in my spotify recommended, I added it to my library and then proceeded to forget about it, then yesterday I found it While scrolling through my saved albums and wow, this is incredible in all of the ways imaginable, definitely listen to this
While it is a disappointing end, I don't hate this, I actually kind of like it
Edit: 68-73
Deserving of a green score even if its a sad ending
Mild take: not nearly as bad as people say it is, really great as a Kevin Abstract record because that's pretty much what it is, definitely a fall off, but really it's not that bad
Best non Saturation record, I kind of understand why some people didn't like it because of the features, but I think a lot of them fit perfectly on this thing, really fun record
Edit: 88-100
WHO LET THE DOPE BOYS OOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT???????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I feel like most people agree that this is the best non saturation release, but idk man, this might just be one of their best releases in general, I like it more than ... read more
Fantastic album from Doseone and Jel, easily the best Themselves record, and probably my favorite effort from Jel, but I do think this just barely falls behind Doseone's album Circle, still a fantastic album but not peak
edit: 88-98
I think this is genuinely some of Dose's best work, up there with cLOUDDEAD and Circle, the beats from Jel are incredible, and it's got some of Dose's best pen and flows, top tier underground rap album
edit: 98-100
this is dose's masterwork
This is the worst album I've ever heard, time to yap about why
This shit is the worst sounding thing of all time, this is legitimately the worst thing I've ever heard, and that's saying a lot, I've listened to genre:sadboy, I've listened to Angelic 2 The Core, I've listened to the 3 hour Onision album, this tops all of those somehow in the longest 40 minute package I've ever heard, the instrumentation is shit, the vocals are shit, the lyrics are corny as fuck, ... read more
DoseOne deserves so much more attention than he gets man
I've been listening to Dose for a while now, and I don't think he's ever put out a weak record, across his very strong solo discography, and the large amount of groups he's in, not a single boring record has come out of it, this album with Boom Bip being no different. The electronic production, the flows, the writing, it all falls into place to create one of the most satisfying listens ever
