While being a bit shaky at the start, Buhloone Mindstate ends as another solid album in De La Souls catalogue. This feels like a concert because of all the live instrumentation on the album. However it doesn’t live up to De La Soul’s funky production and more interesting songs on an album such as 3 feet.
Freddie gives us 10 minutes of just spitting over some cool production and it’s far better than what Peggy gave us
A pretty solid effort from Warren G on this album. There’s some enjoyable tracks reflecting the chilled nature of G-Funk but much is done with it.
While it does have fun moments and good tracks, it’s so repetitive and Carti just spends whole tracks repeating one or two phrases. I wouldn’t mind as much if it was a shorter tracklist but this is 19 songs
I love how this album is structured, starting from Pop Rap bangers to at the end it’s just him spitting bars for 6 minutes. It’s a very strong album which combines everything one might love in a rap album. The production is great and versatile as well as Joey’s performances. A strong showing of his talents on here.
