Lacks the cohesion and consistency of his other work but has unparalleled highs.
Looking at individual tracks, this might be Kendrick's best album, but it comes a little short of GKMC and TPAB in terms of overall cohesion, but still is a pillar of rap.
An introspective album that holds your hand through Vince's mindspace. Excellent pacing and consistency across the album.
As good an album of this genre as could be. Kendrick has perfected taking you through his healing process. Too many standout tracks to note, with Mirror being a personal favorite due to its perfect encapsulation of the entire album. The only drawback is the rigidity of many of these tracks (which I'm sure was intended), making you truly focus on the tracks and requiring a certain mindspace to enjoy. Unparalleled in what it intended to achieve.
A constant euphoric feeling with Danzel guding you through his vision. Hard to pick a standout track due to the absrud consistency here.
One of the best openings (Excl Frequency change) with great track after track. Workin out and Off Da Zoinkes showcase JID's unparalleled flows and lyrical ability. The second half of the album is still excellent, just struggles with the abrupt momentum of the first half.
Severly underrated with standout tacks like hereditary and never. But still has great depth with more like Luader and somebody.
Even without 2007 (which would make it a 100), this is still the best rap album of the 2020s. Has everything you could want, and there's still so much further JID could go, which is scary.
