i´ve seen a lot of people dislike this, idk, sure it´s nothing revolutional or ground breaking but i really enjoyed it and i will defenitively go back to it.
Fav song: Tongue, Pain, Skem
Least fav: One-Nine-Eight-Zero
Absolutely overhated. Sure, it´s not amazing, but it does have some incredible songs (Bosco, Exit Wounds, Begin the End), and it does show an evolution in the style and content. Tracks like A Million Little Pieces also go in depth on Brian´s creative and mental struggles, which made me revaluate and appreciate this album more. I think especially the second half of this album needs to be revaluated.
This album left me speechless. It's violent, sexual, terrifying and depressing at the same time. Sounds kind of like the most noise oriented and experimental death rock, which I'm all for personally. I'm so happy to see modern goth music developing in such interesting ways.
I haven't even listened but what the fuck is this difference between critic and user score wtf
Took a while to grow on me, it's a good album overall with some absolute amazing songs (shoutout to harvest sky). I do go back to listen to some songs however I wouldn't,t go back to listen to the whole album. I love the ethereal feeling some songs give me, overall pretty solid alt-pop record
I really loved this album, kinda feels like a breath of fresh air in the gothic scene.
Fav songs: Just to ask a dance, mad catch, glutton for punishment
Crazy how basically whatever Stanne makes is absolutely amazing. This guy is in Dark Tranquillity (hands down one of the best melodic death metal bands), Cemetery Skyline, who made one of the best albums of last year and this project, which was not my favorite but omg this album goes hard
There are some songs I really enjoy (wish you would notice, bruised), however overall it was mid, a bit boring at times. I expected more from em.
REVIEWING PLACEBO'S DISCOGRAPHY IN A RANDOM ORDER #5 - BLACK MARKET MUSIC
I haven't listened to Loud like love and Battle for the sun yet so idk, but so far this is my least favorite record. Although I still find it to be absolutely enjoyable, it has some absolute bangers including Special K, which is probably one of my favourite songs, I feel like there are a few forgettable songs (I don't wanna talk about Spite & Malice), which is really a shame considering how good some ... read more
REVIEWING PLACEBO'S DISCOGRAPHY IN A RANDOM ORDER #4 - WITHOUT YOU I'M NOTHING
This album takes a pretty different direction from the debut, as it has more slow and experimental songs. This album ahas huge bangers, full of energy such as Pure Morning or my personal favorite Every You Every Me, and slower kind of reflective (?) songs to cry to such as My Sweet Prince. This album feels very complete, it describes various themes including queer identity and relationships and it's ... read more
Fulci is probably in the top 5 of my favorite metal bands. It took me a while to appreciate this album, but now after a few listens I have to say it’s one of my favorites after tropical sun ofc.
Fav songs: vile butchery, morbid lust, human scalp collection
If I hear "drip drip drip drip" one more time I'm gonna put my balls in a blender.
REVIEWING PLACEBO'S DISCOGRAPHY IN A RANDOM ORDER #3 - PLACEBO
Ok damn this is a crazy debut fr. Although I don't consider this record to be their best (sleeping with ghosts and meds>>), this record has some of their best and most iconic songs. This record kind of sets up their sound, however their growth is evident in their next albums.
Fav tracks: Teenage Angst, Nancy Boy, I Know and 36 Degrees (My absolute favorite)
I will start off by saying that I've never been a huge fan of this genre and that I find it to be boring after a few songs. That said, I enjoyed this album, there are some bangers, it's Poppy's heaviest album and I think she did it quite well. Still not a huge fan however, I wish there was more experimentation, especially considering her previous work, and although I enjoy a few songs I would not listen to the album from start to end often, as I find it to be a bit generic.
