Despite being an avid Paramore fan, I wasn't aware Hayley Williams made her own solo music until recently. I wasn't sure if I was going to like this album at first since it's different from what I'm used to hearing from Hayley, but I was honestly very surprised. This is a very good solo project from her and I love how unique it is. Definitely different as I mentioned, but certainly a fun listen.
Paramore covering songs from other bands is always a fun and interesting experience, especially since they don't do it often. I feel like Buring Down the House was done very well and captures the feeling of the original. Overall, Paramore has done an excellent job here and I'm glad they were picked to do this cover.
I've been a Caravan Palace enjoyer for quite some time now. Electro Swing has always been a unique genre for me and I feel like Caravan Palace manages to capture that perfectly within their music. While I like Chronologic, I feel like Gangbusters Melody Club is a huge improvement. It may have taken two years after their album from 2022, but Johnny Manchild has managed to do it again by making another great album. The music has certainly evolved since the days of Insomnia, but it's evolved in a great way. The music has emotion and manages to keep the unique style that Johnny Manchild always provides.
