First of all, I have to say that I don't like Melanie Martinez and I don't like her voice. It sounds like someone is crying in my ear. Nevertheless, I decided to listen to this album and tried to suppress my prejudices. I think I quite succeeded. I even liked some of the songs (about three). But it's still a collection of very boring songs that pretend to be something more than they really are. Honestly, this is music for spoiled middle-class flacks whose focus is on their own egotism ... read more
I was listening to this after breaking up with my first love. This album completely captures all the post-breaking up phases. And at the end, there remains the bitter realization that we will never be the same again.
This album sounds like a mix of her previous works. She really got me excited with the first single but she is definetly not out of her comfort zone with this. What I see as the issue is that she is trying to please US fans with R&B, Hip Hop influenced songs and the rest of the world with pop.
I just discovered John Cale and I have to say that he is one of the most interesting musicians I found out recently. His music is also very interesting and I'm wondering how can someone be so creative even in his age. On the other hand I just can't enjoy it enough. Maybe it's too introvert to me.
This aged well. I just listened this album after almost 20 years and I liked it not because of nostalgia. It has something that todays music lacks so much. Simple nice pop melodies. Favourite tracks: Love doesn't have to hurt, The way that you are, Baby don't you hurt me.
As a non English speaker I can't really enjoy the lyrics and the music is not that grounbreaking. I mostly liked just Cleo Sol vocals on this (which I think is the reason I found out this album in R&B genre).
"Everything fades away" is one of her best songs ever.
This album is so uninspired and so "I don't want to do it" AF. It sounds like someone totally bored just pressed the buttons in studiu to finish finall exam at art school.
A solo album by German band Guano Apes singer. What I like about this record is that I understand why she decided to go solo with this. It is very pop and funny. There is plenty of catchy tunes.
Gerat music with a terrible cover of Joe Cocker waiting for cumshot.
There are many beautiful songs, but many boring too. Fav tracks: Better in time, I will be, Here I Am, The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Footprints in the Sand.
"Call me maybe" one hit wonder is actually one of the most interesting pop artists of the decade. This album proves it again.
I literally felt nothing during listening to this. It got me zero emotions.
Some says that this is their most pop album but in my opinion it's the least one. If we talk about instrumntals, then it is. But I felt in love with their melodies, catchy tunes, vocals and ballads in past. I can't hear it on this album much. Still like it anyway it's just different.
I like this one too but I just miss her unpolished songs . I have a feeling that she is trying so hard to be cute in songs since Remember us to live that it's almost like listening to a children's music (Oh god, I hate that Small Bill$ music video). I liked her songs more when she was mean sometimes.
