Listening to this album felt like a rollercoaster of feelings, I was never quite sure what I thought but I enjoyed the overall experience. I felt pressure to enjoy it, knowing so many Sam Fender lovers, however it didn't catch me when I started listening. I felt like there was a big different between the first and second half of the album, as I thoroughly enjoyed the second half, it felt a lot more interesting, groovy and well crafted. This second half started from 'The Leveller' as I really ... read more

'Bato Mato' really sparked curiosity to me as an album as it was fully in Welsh. Since my Welsh vocabulary is limited, I was forced to focus on everything but the words which I found very fun. It meant I took in every single awesome melody, drum groove or bass riff. This whole album seemed to hurl one awesome vibe at me the whole way through, showing me everything they can do as a band. The best way I would describe this vibe is as a brewing hurricane of psychedelia and intent dragging you into ... read more

Now this album took me in so many directions which I absolutely loved. So much of the time I was thinking this song sounds like this and that song sounds like that, yet somehow the album was still completely unified and sounded like one piece. This album felt like such an emotional output which I think really made it so good to listen to because it all came from his heart. I absolutely loved nearly every song on the album which isn't common. My favourite song was 'Motion', it really reminded me ... read more

So, this album is so so insanely good. Just everything from the grooves to the stories to the crazy riffs it's just all perfect. Prior to this album, I had listened to minimal jack johnson, I only knew a few tracks and not that well. As soon as I started the album I was in a world of love and happiness, the way he sings and creates a feel with all the instruments just encapsulates everything good. I think my highlight of a lot of the album was every time the drums and bass would drop in and the ... read more

Billy Bragg - Life's a Riot with Spy vs. Spy

An exploration of life's peculiarities, this album brought some interesting stories told by just Billy Bragg and his guitar. Life's a Riot, described as something like British Folk Rock, was a wonderful way to bring the emotions of life through music with limited resources. It may be simple in some ways but the simplicity really helps to captivate you and take you into his world. There were two tracks I particularly enjoyed, first of all 'A New England' which is a song most people would know ... read more
