not only is inferno an incredible comeback after 13 years, but it somehow rivals their best albums in their already stacked discography. the soundscapes on this thing are just incredible and it’s so so cool to see that boards of canada haven’t lost any of their creativity over the years 🥹
just as good as girl with fish while also dabbling in some new sounds which is really cool to see
though i hope they decide to make a longer album next time because 25 minutes of new music is almost criminal for a 3 year wait
it's time to clock in for work at the underscores glazing office
after releasing the ambitious masterpiece that is wallsocket (one of my favorite albums ever), it made sense that april was gonna take a different direction with her next album. even before the rollout for U officially started, singles like poplife and even stupid from the wallsocket director's cut made it pretty clear that she was shooting for a more poppier sound for this album. realizing this, i couldnt help but be a ... read more
trying times is essentially a culmination of all of james blake’s past projects, taking the best elements from those albums to create his most powerful record yet. throughout these 13 songs, everything that makes james blake such a unique artist is on full display, from the absolutely beautiful production to some of his best songwriting and performances to date (especially the title track). it’s without a doubt the best album he’s made yet and i honestly couldn’t be more ... read more
it's so cool seeing a small artist make one of the most mindblowing pieces of music i've heard in a while, like i think my jaw physically dropped during a majority of these songs
absolutely deserving of all of the praise it's getting and more
this ep makes me feel like the guy from ratatouille that gets a flashback from his childhood after eating but instead it's a flashback of me playing 2 player wizard tycoon and killing every person in my line of sight
so yeah this is peak and i will be bumping this next time i decide to play a roblox tycoon
it might be laziness or stupidity but despite loving post-rock as a genre i have somehow avoided probably the most acclaimed album in the genre until today
and i will regret this decision for the rest of my life because this might be one of the greatest pieces of music my ears have ever experienced 😢
dont be dumb is definitely more interesting than a lot of other mainstream rap projects recently, though i can't help but feel that rocky's experimentation on this album is a bit of a double-edged sword since it either leads to some of my favorite moments (punk rocky) or whatever the hell STFU was trying to do. i also wish the album in general was a bit more polished because songs like air force and whiskey have great moments but end up getting lost in the sauce that stop them from ... read more
my brain feels like it's disintegrating every time i listen to this but i guess that's the price i pay to listen to peak
just by looking at the genres i knew i was going to enjoy this, but wow i was not expecting to love this album so much. despite me not understanding a single lyric on this album the sound of it alone was enough to immerse me into the world that Kinoko Teikoku created on this project. every single moment on this album just has incredible production paired with Chiaki Sato's vocals that just makes for peak shoegaze music. also the fact that is a debut is actually so impressive because ... read more
i'm a bit surprised that Dogsbody has a higher rating than this because i feel like this album takes everything good from their debut plus a bit more. the only issue i really had with Dogsbody was some of the slower songs feeling a tiny bit lackluster in comparison to the rest of the songs (mainly Divers) but honestly the slower songs are some of my favorite parts of this album with the higher-energy stuff being just as good as the material on their debut (maybe even a bit better ... read more
i'm starting to think there's a curse that has caused every mainstream rapper to release microwaved slop as albums this year
