One of the most magical and transformative experiences in music. Kate Bush is a witch and this is the only proof I need. Every time I close my eyes I can see it so clearly, this universe, the frozen lake besides the foresh, the open window with the blinds getting blown by the wind, the ice hanging from the edge of the cabin’s roof, its all laid out so clearly. This album is peak story telling and peak world building, a masterclass by one of the greatest to ever do it. Especially when the ... read more
This album is my first impression of Olivia Dean, and its quite a good one. Olivia’s Charisma and beautiful voice carry’s her through the album, where she clearly takes the center stage. Her pretty solid lyricism combined with her soft delivery and expressive vocals creates an amazing soothing atmosphere that envelops the listener. But the album at no point really swoops me over, besides the clear standout track, Man I Need, the album as a whole doesnt take any risks, it ... read more
Its Kate Bush, what more can I ask for? Experiment IV is a career highlight even in Kate’s discography
What can I even add about Taylor Swift, my beloved, the reason I love music, I will always love and respect you, and be thankful for how you changed everything for me.
With that said, what the fuck has happened since Midnights?? What went wrong? What are you fucking doing?? The Life Of a Showgirl is Taylor’s 12th album and was marketed as a return to form, only 12 tracks with no deluce/doubel album/3am tracks/bonus tracks or whatever else she made up, produced by her old 1989 ... read more
Kesha is such a beautiful soul, and I wanna say before I start. This album makes me so happy and im so glad to see her doing whatever she wants and be so happy, even if what she wanted wasnt exactly what I did. Its great to see her having so much fun on an album again.
This album is such a let down after Gag Order, Kesha always had a lot of potential in her artistically, Rainbow being such a statement especially after Warrior and Animal which are solid but not as interesting, and High Road ... read more
Im not a big fun of Sabrina Carpenter, dont have anything against her but I never understood the hype, unlike artists like Chappel or Olivia Dean which instantly clicked for me. I still come around every now and then on Espresso and Nonsense and I always liked Please Please Please, Feather and Taste but in my eyes theyre just nice tracks nothing more, definitely not the smash hits they ended up being.
Sabrina’s best quality has always been that she is incredibly funny, this ... read more
One of my favorite Taylor Swifts songs maybe ever, such a beautifully sang and written track with a gorgeous simplistic instrumental. There is nothing to criticize about it, truly perfect.
The genius of Kate Bush needs to be investigated, her ability to write and produce infectious pretty glossy pop tracks like Cloudbusting and Rubberband Girl make it all the more impressive that she produced and wrote arguably one of the most batshit records ever, and it ended up being one of the best albums of all time.
The Dreaming might be on the most venturous albums I’ve ever heard, the verses on The Dreaming arent similar to anything I experienced before and since. The primal ... read more
Mayhem is Gaga’s last LP and damn I'm so glad to have Gaga back. This album is nothing like Disease which I was so worried about, well, can it be more like disease please?
When I reviewed Born This Way I asked Gaga to make sure her music is more polished, more pop. Just straight up mainstream bangers. Well, I’ve grown since then a lot and recognize my mistakes. Disease is such a strong opener, so much power behind it, so much passion. Beautiful production and amazing melodies. ... read more
Did Rebecca Black release an 8+ album? What timeline are we living in??
Anyways so this was great, really great. I absolutely adored every single track on this record. Its main flaw is that its just 7 tracks, its so short and feels like a short queue you put on to hype you up while getting ready to go out, I just needed more of it.
Salvation is a fantastic opener, fun, sounds good, well written and does its main job perfectly, this track is Rebecca saying “take me seriously, I know what ... read more
Magdalena Bay has been making some of the best sounding music to ever exist, and has been doing that pretty consistently. This project easily couldve been an album, it has the singles, the length and the special sound to be one of the most impressive debut albums but Matt and Mica cleverly chose to avoid making it their first LP, because it didnt have the conceptual identity that their future albums are going to have, it didnt have the arts, for short. This is a phenomenal collection of tracks, ... read more
Jessie Ware has grown musically so much since 2012, she has made 4 albums since then that sound completely different from Devotion, including two of the best disco moments of the 2020’s which are also completely different from each other, and it all started here, with Devotion. So what do I think of it?
Pretty good, the album is well written, not very deep but it sounds good, the melodies are nice on the ear and overall the album is a pleasure to listen to. Its very soothing and is very ... read more
This is what every pop album should strive to be, bombastic, fun, short, has diverse sounds and catchy. This is so good it’s almost shocking it can exist, 9 tracks and it’s so diverse but manages to stay extremely cohesive. Every song is iconic and is single material, proved by the fact almost all of them are singles and I dont think anyone would argue Baby Be Mine couldnt be a huge hit too.
Micheal is one of the few artists that I dont think anyone would argue that isnt an ... read more
Charli's glossy futuristic pop record is one of 2019's finest albums and has some of the most catchy songs of Charli's whole discography, being the closest thing she ever made to a "pop bible", only being held back by not being enough mainstream. This is technically the follow up to Sucker, but thematically its definitely a continuation or rather a combination of Pop 2 and Number One Angel's sounds , the experimental and revolutionary production from pop 2 but a ... read more
Troye’s record is a short cute collection of extremely horny pop songs, so basically the gay vesion of Short N’ Sweet by Sabrina Carpenter, but a little bit more consistent and better produced. Its not e very grand statement or a big artistic step, but it sounds good, its well produced, its concise, just 10 tracks and barely surpassing the 30 minute mark but its fun when its on and I cant say I dont enjoy the occasional listen to it, just fun pop songs.
The writing on it is pretty ... read more
The reception to Hold My Girl has surprises me quite a bit at first, I couldn’t wrap my head around that some people just dont want simple pop, granted, its some well made simple pop, but still, not as groundbreaking as her previous record, not even close, but the attention to details and the melodic talent that was shown on Rina’s older work is still here, tracks like Frankenstein, Phantom and the title track sound fantastic and are extremely catchy, while maintaining the emotional ... read more
Born This Way is one of the messiest albums of the 2010’s pop scene. So many genres, so many ideas thrown at the wall hoping something would stick and I dont know if its luck or sheer talent, but almost all of them did. This album has so much chaosin it, its overwhelming and most of the time you dont know whats going on. Thank god the music sounds fire. Marry The Night might be the best song Gaga has ever made, competing with the track that comes on a little later, Bloody Mary, and the ... read more
I really like Kacey Musgraves, she’s one of the few country artists that I feel like I truly get, but this record, I dont understand her. I love the sound of this album, this atmospheric almost euphoric sound is so beautiful, but its a break up album, it shouldnt sound like that, the lyrics are so depressing and it does not much the aesthetic of the record at all. Songs like Camera Roll and Justified does not convey their emotions through the production. And in that regard her vocals ... read more
