Some of these songs are goddamn hilarious, but the album would've been better without lyrics.
I didn't vibe with this when I first listened to it, yet I kept coming back to it. Really listening to it, and yeah, it's great.
An unfinished disaster of an album. Half of the songs feel like they're missing entire sections. The fact this album is appearing on BEST OF THE YEAR LISTS, let alone near the top, it's as clear of an indictment of music journalism as I've ever seen.

This is a concept album, and that concept is, "Sheriff Hopper is a sex addict, he cheated on me, and he should fuck right off."
It's better than the endless dirge of TTPD, but it's still not great. Actually Romantic is embarrassing. You can't say "I'm rubber, you're glue" while slathering yourself in Elmer's. Wood is her trying to do her best Sabrina and coming up short (penis lol.)
