This is the To Be Kind to JazzArt Underground's The Glowing Man; instead of beautiful, intense, mystical transcendence, [angry noises] is abrasive, punchy, noise-toxic, occasionally to a fault. Cisnienie have their formula down, and every track (aside from the last) had a climax that made me bounce up and down like an idiot with my eyes closed. The first track is the obvious highlight here, and almost touches the calibre of the band's debut.
The boomers were right about these guys. Excellent, personal, angry, charming songwriting is channelled through addictive 70s prog. Every minute feels iconic.
Parannoul crafts some of the most electrifying and unique post-rock I’ve heard recently - the first track maintains an evocative bassline and builds with noisy passages. The second track is more industrial and rhythmic, and my favourite on here: pt. 2’s percussion is crunchy, abrasive, complex, and its structure gives way to some of the most dopaminergic drops in the genre.
