it's like pouring one glass of milk into another glass of milk.

Sammers - see you whenever
NR

ayyyyy this is a collection of demos i did recently. from the liner notes:

"“see you whenever” is a collection of originals, covers, and improvisations for vocals and piano, a collection i recorded on and off over the span of a few days in isolation after a failed attempt to take my own life. it follows in the footsteps of three other projects that were recorded during my days in college. the projects tend to be gritty, raw, and scrambled together with reckless abandon. this ... read more

Phosphorescent - Revelator

it was definitely worth the once through. a lot of it is very homogenous, but it's pleasing to the eardrums during it's runtime. not to shabby.

8. A Poem On The Men's Room Wall - 4.5

Beyoncé - COWBOY CARTER

i completely understand i'm a dunce for this, but this does nothing for me.

if i wanted to listen to The White Album i'd listen to The White Album.

if i wanted to listen to Jolene i'd a crash a rural wedding.

she is no longer the female version of a hustler

of a hustler

of a of a hustler.

Milt Jackson - Olinga

honestly, given that it's been nine years since the last one, this could have been MUCH worse.

everybody on this website acting like 1685 doesn't have Bach rolling in his fkn grave.

2. Tangerine Rays - 4.5
6. Lucky - 5.0

twenty one pilots - Clancy

this album has been out for about nine years now, and i was the one to add it to the site. this album has been out for about nine years now, and i am the only person to have purchased it on Bandcamp. as far as i know, not a single other person has listened to this.

and, frankly, neither have i. but i have. this is easily my most "god dammit Sam you're such a artsy hipster piece of shit" 10/10 i have. i don't care. i LITERALLY don't care.

Freddie King - My Feeling for the Blues
92

i was genuinely surprised by clean this was. you think blues records from this era absolutely have their time and place, but most of them don't exactly work as full collections of work now. this was excellent. passionate, dirty, lots of good cuts. definitely a diamond in the rough.

2. Stumble - 5.0
3. I Wonder Why - 5.0 & SOTY
3. Stormy Monday - 4.5

11. My Feeling for the Blues - 4.0

Ludacris - Word of Mouf

i've been bumping this the last three chest days, only one of the chest days was bad. mostly my fault: strength training on an empty stomach is such a terrible idea.

anyways i had only heard Rollout and Area Codes before this (yes, my friends clowned me because i guess i've never heard Move Bitch ever? somehow?) and was pleasantly surprised by this. very enjoyable.

2. Rollout (My Business) - 4.5
8. Growing Pains - 5.0 & SOTY

12. Saturday (Oooh! Ooooh!) - 5.0

definitely worth a once through, the track with Baths is pretty sick.

Falling In Reverse - Popular Monster
2

i don't even want to dignify this. this, this THING, this WHATEVER THE FUCK, is absolutely hideous.

uhhhh, how do i describe this album without actually describing what the music is. so, like, imagine if you had this really badly trained miniature pinscher. fucker is constantly a ball of energy, incessantly yipping at anybody within a 20 meter radius, darts around the house at a kajillion miles an hour, bites the neighbors, and only seems about 50% potty trained. imagine if you took that ... read more

On Deft's review of Quadeca - I Didn't Mean to Haunt You
"major props to you for really delving into the how and why and not sacrificing your integrity. i also, like many, respectfully disagree with this take, but it does bring up wonderful opportunities for discussion. i don’t believe that wearing influences on your sleeve or appealing to a certain crowd means the core musical experience is bad. this is something the mainstream has done far longer than Quadeca has. i can, however, understand why that would be frustrating, and almost exploitative. is that where this comes from?"
