Jorge Ben - Fôrça bruta

Rarely does an album sound so full of life and as rejuvenating, yet so groovy, grand and relaxed, as "Fôrça bruta" by Jorge Ben.

The overall composition and songwriting of this album are its shining stars. The strings, the horns, the catchy melodies, and the guitarwork bring such high energy to this album, along with the many entertaining transitions that maintain the playful groove throughout the album. Despite not knowing Portuguese, I felt every bit of joy and ... read more

"Physical Graffiti" by Led Zeppelin has a lot more to latch on to than "Led Zeppelin IV". Tracks on "Physical Graffiti" feel more complete and developed rather than having just like one good riff with filler verses, such as "The Rover", "Kashmir" and "Down by the Seaside". The biggest flaw of this album for me is that it is definitely bloated. If this album was only one disc and ended at "Ten Years Gone", it would be a solid ... read more

"Yume" is the band's most successful attempt at creating an atmospheric, dreamy, and grand experience, and is my personal favourite Lamp record overall.

This is shown through its opening, titled "Symphony", which flawlessly sets up ... read more

"Led Zeppelin IV" is surprisingly underwhelming. Despite there being timeless masterpieces such as "Black Dog", "Rock and Roll", and "Stairway to Heaven", the rest of the album fell short in keeping my excitement. While there were parts of the rest of the album where I enjoyed the guitar-playing and the drumming, I did not resonate with most of the tracks on this album in full. Additionally, I'm just not a big fan of Robert Plant's vocals and ... read more

"Iceman" is Drake's most inoffensive project since Views. I do not necessarily hate any particular track on the album, except for maybe "2 Hard 4 The Radio" for its horrible, almost parody-sounding take on west coast hip-hop. Drake just cannot escape sounding like a poser on any track where he colonizes another culture's sound. As for the rest of the album, the beats sound boring and they always switch to another boring beat. Drake sounds disinterested and his ... read more
