Just for having “Van Basten” in their name, they deserve a positive review without a second thought, but if you close your eyes and keep your ears wide open, you’ll hear an immersive and multifaceted album that, like the sea of their native Genoa, carries you up and down with a rhythm that’s sometimes lulling, sometimes stormy, but never boring.
For this one i really need to thank Gemini. I asked it to recommend me some post-rock/shoegaze band from...Japan or China were too easy, why not try Thailand?
Well, color me really impressed!
How I miss the days when they were a constant fixture in my playlist (probably more because my youth is now practically a thing of the past than because of them).
The atmosphere and mood are captivating and striking. The vocal parts often add nothing, and in some cases actually detract from the tracks. Overall a very good work.
It's their best effort in the last few years and you can feel they enjoyed recording it. There are a few standout tracks, but all in all, it’s not something I see myself listening to very often in the future.
Perfect for driving (even if you are not in Tokyo nor you can shoegaze in the while...)
