It's taken me a long time to fully process this record. While it is just a covers project with and instrumental intro and outro, it feels like a perfect send off for Yukika.
In my opinion, In her short career she managed to become one of the all time greats in the pop genre and this album is a love letter to the genre that allowed her to thrive - City Pop.

With "Soul Lady" Yukika not only makes one of the greatest debuts of all time, but one of the best pop albums of all time.
From beginning to end, the album entrances you in its beautiful production and amazing vocals. While it is definitely a blend of K-pop and City-pop, Yukika is able to blend the two in a way that makes it sound unique to her, but also very nostalgic, creating a sound that is an absolute must listen to for anyone.
It doesn't matter if you like K-pop, or if it's ... read more
