Holy fucking Christ.
Where the fuck do I even start with this one? This hit me emotionally like a ton of bricks doused in lemon juice concentrate. Aesthetically, mtb is akin to if Xiu Xiu had an internet connection via dial up, and made A Promise using Protools under that connection. This is me speaking to many tiny boxes, btw. Like, genuinely, there are points in the album (especially in tracks #4 and #11) where I really start questioning the artist's mental wellbeing. So, like fr, are you good?

Just a devastating series of songs, which are just my stuff: Emotional, experimental and captivating. Particularly love the moments of calm given by I Am Lonely and This Is Not a Cry for Help. I had a pretty visceral reaction after it finished.
Starting half is a lot stronger for the most part, and lyrically the album could use some improvement, as whilst simple language serves this sort of music best, some of the lines kinda pull me out. As a whole, amazing though. Favourite was probably Time ... read more
33 minutes of a nauseating mess, I love it.
I've known this project for a couple of years, but always thought it was a fun idea, but never checked the whole thing. And it did sound really good, some aspects to polish for sure, but a super interesting experience overall

It’s not absolutely terrible, but the vocals are so grating and I’ve heard this exact type of music done so, so much better. I have no reason to ever return to this.
