I see the vision with this one, I really do. It has this cool eerie feel to it and I can’t lie, there is this terrifying vibe through this entire album. Seems like a logical step coming from mtbs last few albums…

Every now and then, there comes an album that feels rude to analyse. Something that is, while technically an artistic piece, feels like something with far larger intentions. I reluctantly define “There’s Nothing New” as music. Truth be told, I don’t want to define it as anything.

I honestly do not remember listening to this as I write this review but clearly I did not like it so I will not give it a relisten.
A weird moment in her discography.
Whilst this sounds like a continuation of the sound Aspen was doing on TO CAST PEARLS, it feels like somewhat of a step down after that album. The songs, at points, are so sparse, and in the next they are tight and up in your face, and it can be whiplash inducing. There are great moments on every song, but I can't help but feel like this album is a little bit lost at moments. It feels like going to hell
A grim, eerie and dark experience, which taking it as a concept project, this is phenomenal. The ambiance, sound, production, performances, all of it. It's something I felt I shouldn't be listening to it since it's super dark and personal. First time I goy jump scared twice by an album.
