lots of humour and personality on this track, doesnt take itself very seriously and yet sounds so crisp and effortless. actual gem.
Listening to albums while high #1
this shit takes forever to really get going, but when its on, its on, Greatist-Hits is one of Sublimes most underrated cuts, similarly Saw Red with Gwen Stefani is one of their strongest pieces to date. i like the faithfulness to the ska roots with short dub cuts, but for me, they end up being huge momentum killers in the grand scheme of things.
vocals are on point, the vintage feeling to this album, as well as the lyrical content and very demo-y vibe leads to ... read more
the musical equivalent of boiled chicken.
M.I.A. gives us a Christian hiphop album that lacks everything that defines her as an artist; the unique production pulling from around the world, the lyrical themes of oppresson and fighting the system, the unique vocal preformances, everything that seperated her from her contemporaries is absent here.
M.I.A. doesnt have the prettiest voice, but the ugly production matching it helped mask it, and made it sound oddly appealing and gave her a voice, ... read more
WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA is a gorgeously ugly album with abrasive production that is held back by the shallow lyrics.
i thought id like this more than i did, its right up my alley, electropop fuzed with elements of punk, dance, rave, but the way ths album presents itself can make it come off as demo-ish and rough around the edges in an unappealing way.
the themes presented are interesting, themes such as addictions to drugs, lust and partying to cope with self worth and identity, the ... read more
genuine burger music dude, T-Pain the only thing preventing this from being a 0.
its a bruno mars lead single, ofc its good, i just wish the bridge didnt sound like corperate music.
this is a collab that makes SO much sense, and it pans out exactly how youd expect; high energy, pure kickass anger. killer preformance from Curry and Garris on the vocals. genuinely no flaws on this at all.
wasnt blown away, definitely not his best work, his hook game has seriously taken a hit, otherwise, production is pleasing to listen to and diverse enough to stay engaging throughout the enitre length, and other than a few middlebrow/cheesey lines, his rapping is still on point. i cant say ill be putting any of these track on any playlist of mine if that means anything, really cant get over some of these choruses, such a mood killer unfortunately.

another case of IDK botching the hook, however the production from KTA and the verses from both Jay and Push were stellar.
the hook is so ass im sorry, a collab between two prestigious artists like this should be amazing but the hook prevents me from enjoying this in any way. literally sounds like those gimmick tiktok songs where they use nursery rhymes in their hooks.
A very sincere ode to parenta figures, packed with beautiful production and stellar feature. Ovrkast can also hold his own on some of these tracks. real promise with this guy, tap in.
Immaculate wordplay and confidence on this one, she is in her bag and is making a name for herself. Ovrkast. also did fantastic on the sample. crazy good track
this is incredible, hard to put into words so please i urge you to just listen to it for yourself.
the amount of transphobia i'm seeing in regards to the features of this album is crazy. youre allowed to not like the album but why be transphobic in the process?
i like the EDM infused production, really fits Danny's off the walls style. tracks like Lift You Up, Starburst and Copy Cats, have stellar production for example and have great lyricism too. another highlight is What You See, a very touching track about sticking toghether despite the struggles one might go through ... read more
really good single, lots of personality in this especially the closing 30 seconds. i also feel the small detail of adding reverb to the vocals is a welcomed change
love the moody boom bap inspirations on the production, pretty refreshing for Aesop.
