Panic! at the Disco - Death of a Bachelor
55

I decided to go back to middle school for a minute and visit artists I didn’t really listen to as a kid. PATD was one of them, despite me hearing mostly good things about the music. That and I’ve had LA Devotee stuck in my head for the last couple days. Scratching and itch as they say. And what better way to do this than on the treadmill!

Really though. I knew they were an upbeat band for the most part, and it delivered on that front. LA Devotee was easily the best song, and it ... read more

Noah Kahan - The Great Divide
90

I saw Noah a couple years ago on tour in Toronto, and I want to say he played this. The song just feels familiar as a whole. But either way. It's so good, and definitely worth the wait. The fact that he gave us a 5 minute SINGLE is a good sign; I think that announcing an album a couple months in advanced isn't the worst thing, but it's still like damn we gotta wait so long for it. At least it's not like 5 months, it could be worse.

Anyway, I think that the vocals are good ... read more

Beach House - Depression Cherry

I love this album so much I don't even have words for it. That's how good it is. Production 100 vibes 100 lyrics 100 everything is just so good about this from start to finish.

Mumford & Sons - Babel
95

These people must hate whimsy bc wdym the collective scores are 58/62??? This album is NUTS. And besides that, it literally won aoty... Every song is a banger and the production is just amazing. There are very few songs on this album that aren't great, then the rest are outstanding. This is another album I'll put on just to listen to regularly, and I enjoy it every time. Of course, I knew Little Lion man and The Cave from their previous album, which was a good introduction to their ... read more

Caamp - By and By
95

One of my favorite albums. I discovered it from listening to By and By on Spotify a while ago, and it's become a regular album in my rotation ever since. The cover is AMAZING, similar notes to how I felt about Copper Changes Color. By and By might be one of my favorite songs I've ever listened to. This album and Clairo's Charm give off like the same exact feeling for me. I listen to them side by side a lot and I have no words to describe how much I like it. It's just that ... read more

Caamp - Copper Changes Color

I am 100% a By and By truther, so when I saw that they were releasing a new track I was so excited. And I wasn't disappointed, but I just don't think comparatively it's their best work. This came out before Taylor, Sabrina, Laufey, and Conan's albums were, so it was a good summer jam. I listened to it a couple times and didn't really like it much so I dropped it for a while. But about a month ago I revisited it, and it's become regular in my rotation. The album ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Short n' Sweet (Deluxe)
95

Ok highkey might be an inflated rating but I'm feeling generous. I think the cover of this album is so much better than the other one. The lighting choice is a little odd but it's fine. I can't believe I've gotten Fortnite wins as Sabrina Carpenter...

I listened to Sabrina a little bit before this released, and ended up also scoring tickets to her show for the original album in Toronto for like $60. So I didn't get the chance to hear the deluxe songs in person, but ... read more

Sabrina Carpenter - Such A Funny Way
95

I really liked this one. But it also made me wonder why she made a bonus and didn't have more than one song on it? Either way, the cover is GORGEOUS. Much nicer than the other one. When I first listened to it, I was surprised by the production, but I did end up enjoying how it flipped around a bunch until the bridge, which was definitely the best part of the song. Similar to the deluxe of SnS, I would say this is the best song across the whole album. Big fan!

Sabrina Carpenter - Man's Best Friend
80

Don't get me wrong, I liked the album. I liked the promotion for it, I liked the puppy she used in photoshoots. But I think it was just set up to fail because of how big Short and Sweet was. I think a lot of these songs could've been put on SnS as a bonus and she would've gotten away with that. Each song individually was fine, and I think the single choice was solid. I was a little worried at first but it turned out fine. I didn't like Tears so much despite it being the ... read more

Taylor Swift - The Life of a Showgirl
50

I haven't rated any of the Taylor albums on here yet just because I have similar opinions on a lot of them, and only good opinions on some. Similar to RWBY, I don't want to rehash the same thing 11 times just because it gets old. But since I liked Midnights, I was excited for this one. What I wasn't expecting was.... this. I should've known from the cover that it would be ass, but I held out hope, especially since the first track was as good as it was. I think Ophelia ... read more

Laufey - A Matter of Time
90

When I saw that Laufey was releasing an album last August, I was so excited. The lineup was Sabrina, Conan, and Laufey. So I had this album in rotation for a WHILE. And I think it's definitely an improvement on Bewitched all around. Her jazz-esc style fits her so well, and not in a way that feels forced like a lot of artists try to do to sound "classy". She's just natural at it. The orchestra in the tracks are so refreshing to hear, and when the first song started I knew I ... read more

Tame Impala - Currents
90

I heard somewhere that very few albums sound like what their covers are, and Currents fits that description entirely. I love Tame Impala, maybe not his new record but I really liked this one! The production is so good, literally every song is just chef's kiss. My standout is definitely Yes I'm Changing, which is also my favorite on the album. The lyrics are also amazing from start to finish. I'm not sure what else I can say besides that it's almost a perfect album in my ... read more

Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers
75

First full listen of this album after exclusively listening to Valley Winter Song, and I can say that it was fine. The production was fine, the melodies were good for the most part. Mexican Wine gives me weird Weezer vibes in a good way, but I wouldn't say I'd choose it to be the first track. It wasn't as cohesive as I would've liked it, and the highs were high and the lows were... meh. I don't think Stacy's Mom is the best track on the album, maybe not even top 3 ... read more

Conan Gray - Wishbone
99

Probably my second favorite Conan album next to Superache now. I like this production and style way more than Found Heaven, and the songs just felt much more cohesive than the last. Caramel, Actor, and Eleven Eleven are my favorites and it's not even close.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade
100

Everything about this album is just so good. The production, instrumentals, lyrics. All of it. Each song individually has so much care put into it, and I can't ever get over the transition between The End. and Dead!. Personally Cancer might by my favorite track, and yes it's better than the TOP rendition. It's just too good.

Jeff Williams - RWBY: Volume 1 Soundtrack
90

Ok I'm using the vol.1 ost to rate all of them because I just cannot be bothered to rehash the same points 9 times. Albums 1-3 were FANTASTIC, and I think it falls off from there. Each track is solid in the earlier songs, and then as the story progresses you can see where priority lies in some songs over others. I think the older albums were better even though the production and vocals were generally worse. I think as the main vocalist matured, her voice did as well really well. This whole ... read more

The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead
97

I had to rate it the same as LTB since they're tied. I think this is more cohesive than LTB, but it could also just be due to the short track list. The cover is iconic, like the other as well. This might as well be a joint review. Each song is just so perfect; They're all similar but not too similar that it makes me wonder which song is which. I just love it all so much.

The Smiths - Louder Than Bombs
97

Yes I'm a Smiths dickrider and no I don't care. I love their music and this album is such a good project. I love every part of this album, the production especially. Half a Person was on repeat for so long before it got replaced with Back to the Old House. Just all of it. I can't decide if I like this album more than The Queen Is Dead or not. They're SO CLOSE

Mac Miller - K.I.D.S. (Kickin' Incredibly Dope Shit)
85

My first Mac MIller experience was my coworker playing The Spins on aux, and it was over from there. I fell in love with this album and for good reason. I was never really a rap listener, but this was pretty much the gateway into introducing stuff like that into my regular stream. There are multiple songs that make it on my yearly summer playlist just because of how upbeat and fun the songs are. NTM the album cover is just gold.

They Might Be Giants - Flood
55

There's not much to say about this album. I think TMBG are a good band and the songs on this record are GOOD. It's just... not memorable in the way other albums are. I really enjoyed Birdhouse in Your Soul, it's such a heartwarming song and it reminds me of my grandma. I remember playing Istanbul on Just Dance when I was a kid too. It has memories, but not all of it. So I can really only rate thee stuff I remember sticking with me.
