great debut, stepping away from the hyperpo era this project and embracing the indie pop rock teen angsty side. a lot to worry about lyrically - perfect match for teenage heartbreaks and jumping around.
A great debut album. Many very intriguing ideas, many musical decisions that make the album sound grey but also very colorful. Crispy production and nice songs, not too long but very attractive to listen to and get lost in. Dominic does a great job at keeping one interested and invested, eventhough the things he talks about in his music are not very interesting usually. Dominic knew he would create a summer jam with this one. From modern high pitched vocals to rough guitar bits - Sunburn is an album for the summer. I must say though, there are a few songs on here that seem rather bland and unfinished - but Dom is known for giving his albums that touch - with that said, I think the closing track should be the produced version of this demo-sounding What Kinda Woman. Still a beautiful Album and very layered. Favorites: How Much Is Weed, Pasture Child and Frisky.
