This may not sway anyone's opinion on this album one way or the other, but this album is known as being the prototype for Led Zeppelin's first album, and for their early sound, in general (right down to Zep also doing a cover "You Shook Me"). The combination of having a hotshot guitarist (and former Yardbird, in both cases), paired with a dynamic, charismatic vocalist is what Zep was going for (and achieved).

I'm a huge Alice Cooper fan, which is maybe why I absolutely can't stand this album. I have embraced his musical chameleon act throughout his different musical phases, but there's

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown - The Crazy World of Arthur Brown

This is one of the handful of albums I listen to every year on (or near) Halloween. Side one is an absolute masterpiece, and works as something of a concept album (side); side two, though, has always seemed a little lackluster to me, at least in comparison to side one--not bad, but it definitely brings down the overall score of the album, for me.
