Holy shi what a banger debut. Love the rawness in her vocals. The way the production sounds like it was a bunch of homies making stuff up in their basement. Whether that was the intention or not, it really made the record feel authentic. I find that a lot of Midwest Emo falls into the trap of sounding a tad one track minded throughout a record but if the vocals are enjoyable enough, its not really an issue for me. I think this is their best work yet. I got put on to this band by one of my metalcore friends funny enough. Its just an awesome indie rock album. You can hear the progression in their sound. From the weird ballads and use of wonky vocals way back to their first project Baby Mode to this more modern sound you come to expect from Indie acts. Diet Dr. The Strokes. Really solid tho. I wouldn't be surprised if I enjoy this more than listening to Julian fuck a toaster for Reality Awaits. A lot of the songs are pretty one note but its a dame catchy note. If you like that early stroking sound then this is will bring you to completion. Favorites: Angry Lizard Noise, Queen of Hearts. Mane wtf is a Himbo Dome? Alt- country is an ever growing genre I have been investing in. Nothin like a lil twang and fiddle to keep a body in motion. This album knocks it outta the park for me personally. All the songs have such interesting themes and lyrics. "We sat under a half-mast McDonalds flag" is one of my personal favorites. One of the greatest vocal performances I have ever heard. This version of Cadmium I genuinely think makes it one of the greatest songs of all time. DO NOT PUT ON WHILE DOING SHI ROUND THA CRIB. YOU WILL STAND THERE LIKE a dummy. All are honestly probably my favorite versions of said songs so I wont even bother with my Fav/Least. Just give it a listen
