Faces’ less cool and weirder younger brother.
Pre-listen predicted rating - 8.3
I don’t believe it stacks up against his ‘big 3’ (Faces, Swimming, Circles), but it’s still a testament to how great and in his own lane Mac was as an artist. His ability to put his feelings regarding the deepest and most complex topics and questions one can have into such simple words over largely minimalistic production is something only he can do. The sound and overall vibe is ... read more
Can’t wait for The Party Never Ends (Fortnite Deluxe) next week.
Pre-listen Predicted Score: 6
Will they ever let this man rest? All that build up with this being his ‘final album ever’ (wink wink) and they honestly couldn’t have made a more mediocre album if they tried.
It makes you truly question who this album is even for. It can't be the hardcore fans because they’re the ones constantly begging (seemingly into a void) for certain songs to be released ... read more
Kinda like Mr Morale but the therapist is Tyler's mum.
Pre-listen Predicted Score - 8.4
Coming in you already know Tyler is going to deliver a great album, you just don’t know exactly how. And while I don’t think this is near his best album, and probably won’t be in his top 3, I think it’s a very personal and needed album from him.
If he came in bragging about his lifestyle for the whole album like he did on CMIYGL it would’ve been stale, so I’m glad ... read more
The nail in the coffin of the Kanye washed allegations.
Pre-listen predicted score = 6.0
I think it may be time to hang up the boots Ye. I think it’s also time to accept that Donda may be the last good album we get from him. I mean there’s always a route to getting back to quality for someone as great as him, but it’s really not looking good. When the highlight of your album is a minute of Young Thug at 50% volume, it’s time to do some reflecting.

Went as well as you’d expect an Ice Spice debut album to go.
Pre-listen predicted score - 5.5
Being her debut ‘album’, I would’ve thought she would put a bit more effort into making it an experience, but it’s really no different to her EP last year. Naming it Y2K also led me to believe there would be some sort of early 2000s theme/vibe, but it seems to be nothing more than an ode to her Jan 1 2000 birthday.
I mean I can’t say I hated the singles, but ... read more
Disappointing showing from both Future and Metro.
There was obviously a lot of hype going into the 2nd instalment of their collab given the events that happened on and after the 1st. And that’s probably the first thing hurting it, it’s a victim of the hype they indirectly created the first time around. They knew the Kendrick verse would blow up, but the didn’t know Cole would respond immediately, and they also didn’t know he was set the internet on fire again by ... read more
Ohio’s finest at it again..
Everyone knew how this was going to go as soon as it was announced. As much as I root for Trippie to get back to the quality he was at in 2017-19, and as much as Tickets To My Downfall was a guilty pleasure back when it released; in their current forms this is a collab project from hell quality wise. Honestly may be the two most hated rap-centric artists around atm in a general sense. And while I hate to say the hate is justified, they definitely aren’t ... read more
It's time for Future to head up those all-time rapper lists...
Arguably (not arguably) the goat trap artist and producer coming together for a whole album. Did they deliver to the highest standard they’re capable of? not really, but it’s still a great album and a great display of why these two have been at the top of the game for the amount of time they have. Most tracks are around the same quality, so how much you enjoy the album really depends on how much you like Future or how ... read more
In pole position for rap album of the year.
Definitely glad Schoolboy is back releasing music again. He has always been someone who makes sure everything he releases is quality. If that means 5 years between albums? Cool. But he’s not someone like Cudi for example who gets the urge to make an album and throws together some bullshit like Insano just to release. I thought we had a classic on our hands from the first two actual songs. Still might grow into that because the quality is ... read more
If this is the quality of albums we’re gonna get from now forward, I’m scared.
Pre-listen projected score - 7.0
Where Donda was somewhat of a ‘beautiful mess’, this is quite the opposite; everything feels thrown together randomly, and is more times annoying than even good. Maybe doesn’t help that I hate Ty Dolla $ign’s voice and most of what he does, but even then neither Kanye or the features bring the album up enough for it to be considered passable as ... read more
Does its job well as a collab album, everyone can grab at least a couple tracks.
Pre-listen predicted score - 7.5
I trusted Cole Bennett’s eye and ear for putting together a solid collection of tracks and artists, and for the most part he did his job. In comparison to other albums of similar makeup in recent DJ Khaled albums and Internet Money’s attempt at a ‘label album’, I think this album is a clear step ahead. Pretty fun throughout the whole album, each artist ... read more
Overall very solid, but I expected more than just typical 21 savage.
Pre-listen predicted score - 8.1
Expected a more concept/subject matter heavy album given the name and how the rollout focused pretty heavily on his life story and his deportation, but for the most part it was a pretty typical 21 Savage album. There were a select few moments where the concept was present, namely the first 2 tracks, letter to my brudda, and the strong outro, but most of the material here is what you would ... read more
Happy Cudi = mid album. Sad but that’s unfortunately how it goes.
Pre-listen predicted score - 7.6
It’s always exciting to get new music from Cudi given how much of a legend he is in the scene, but you never know how it’s going to go; you could get a Speedin’ Bullet 2 Heaven, or you could get a classic like MOTM1, and this album falls basically right in the middle of the two. Tracklist is maybe a bit bloated, but it’s the contents that make this a pretty ... read more
0/4 in a single year is CRAZY work.
I really don’t know what Trippie needs to do get out of this slump but it’s getting bad… it truly sounds like he isn’t putting any effort whatsoever into these projects. Like he’s going into the studio, recording a bunch of bullshit for a few hours and then releasing it as a project, that’s honestly what it sounds like. His melodies used to be so infectious and fun, now they just sound half-assed and lazy. And when his ... read more
The dry streak continues for Trippie
Not sure why he decided to release this, but thanks I guess? I’m still counting the days until we get another project even to the standard of ALLTY4 but given we’re now 4 years and 4 disappointing releases (5 inc. this) past that point I fear that Trippie has officially lost it. As a big fan I really do hope he proves me wrong sooner or later, but when the throwaways are better than most of the material on your last 2 projects something ... read more
Still hasn’t quite found himself artistically, but he’s getting there.
Not gonna say I was excited for this Laroi album, but I was intrigued to see how he has evolved as an artist since his questionable EP/mixtape run in 2020/21. And while it’s clear he’s definitely grown up both as a person and an artist, and that he has the foundations to make a solid record, he still hasn’t pieced it together yet. I liked the sound of the singles, and the eerie/odd aesthetic he ... read more
Another HIGHLY anticipated release this year that lived up to the hype, for the most part.
Amazing to have Sampha back after such a long hiatus. I haven’t listened to his debut, so all I had to go off was the countless amounts of praise I’ve heard, the single for this album, and some of the beautiful feature appearances he has done between albums. His style didn’t immediately click with me and he is naturally cryptic in his writing so it was hard to fully grasp what he was ... read more
Solid album, but again fails to take that next step and prove himself as a solo artist.
Offset was always my favourite Migo, but again he fails to make a convincing solo album and it’s probably a slight downgrade to his 2019 release tbh. Yet another example of an artist that can barely fill out 12-15 tracks making a 20+ song album and it feeling long and dull as a result.
No stand out amazing tracks which isn’t ideal considering the length. But despite there not being many true ... read more
At this point it feels like Drake is feeding the haters more than the fans…
Was really hoping this would be the album he comes back into form and gives us another classic, but it seems like whatever Drake does he always falls back into the same album structure. And I use the word ‘album’ loosely because again this just sounds like a playlist where the whole tracklist is shuffled 3 times before it’s released. Literally the whole tracklist could be shuffled and it would ... read more
