Boards of Canada - Music Has the Right to Children

Cold, nostalgic in a way that quite a lot of late 90's electronica tends to draw upon. Lots of old Sesame Street based samples to help drive home that title. Track lengths seem to follow a general pattern of little interludes / palette cleansers into bigger, more complex instrumentals that encompass quite a lot of emotions - the aforementioned nostalgia, quiet melancholy, withdrawn bliss. An EP to surpass all EP's, Air step out of the gate like they've got stilettos. A particularly strong statement, vibe intact.

On closer inspection, and due to the length of each track, it's a good exception to go on vibes for this one. And whilst the vibres are nice, it's...lacking. Consider this a demo for what Fly Lo is capable of in the near future. Not so much hitting it out of the park, but moreso, like, a ding against the stands.

As good as music can get.

Can remedy a bad night, coax out the tears from an unwilling host, can pass the time until the rising of a bold-faced sun. A man puts his soul into something, something that isn't long for this Earth, and creates something that can transcend generations. One man, one instrument, and few others. You and him.

You and him.

Pure music.

I’ve found that this strange little man makes some great music, and every time I come back, it sounds slightly better. Bits here and there that flourish over time, and it’s been great getting excited with a new artist recently too.

Hope you’re doing well.
