Some lyrically deep cuts instrumentally not as good as his previous and some songs just seemed to performative and pick me. Like he’s trying to hard to be super lyrical sounds forced. It’s just my opinion though.
Honestly I liked less than half the tracks the others were mid. Tame Impala was a top 5 fav artist for me probably still is, but this album just sucked. You can’t even say this album sucks because those “Real Tame Impala Fans” would say you just can’t accept an artist changing and that I want the old Tame Impala. Like if Kevin’s next album was Discovery by Daft Punk or OK Computer by radiohead, or even a classic Kanye album even tho it’s not catered towards his fans it’s would be a good album. I respect changing direction even moving away from what fans want. But if you’re going to do it at least make it good. Coz no edm fan is bumping this either. At least make a good house album."

"@flooders yeah I liked a lot of songs on AGC and also MUSIC, doubt it’ll click the same way as trap clicked for me but I’ll listen to more and hope one day it does and then I’ll come back to this and check it out. It’s definitely more of an acquired taste than trap music, you won’t hear rage influence on mainstream as much as trap was back in mid 2010s. So I guess my ears gotta adjust."
