BNYX® - GENESIS FM

Talk about a whole lot of nothing. Firstly let me start by saying, this is a producer album, so you would expect the production to be a highlight but in reality almost none of the songs stick out and if they do, rarely for their production. The best song on the album is easily EVERYWHERE I GO (REMIND ME), offering what feels like classic Kid Cudi. TELEPATHY LOVE, FANatic and fuëgo were also fun but the rest of the tracklist was honestly forgettable. While being a mediocre album as a whole, ... read more

North West - N0rth4evr

While ambitious and experimental she channels the spirit of her fathers Yeezus era with hard hitting base heavy tracks. The production on the album is hard, front to back, delivering performances that easily trump anything Kanye himself has put out since Donda. My favorite song is easily Th!s t!m3, although none of the performances were bad. The samples and lyrics still do suffer under one aspect which is North's age. Many parts are still juvenile, but the girl is 12. For a first project ... read more

Kenny Mason - BULLDAWG
90

Quite frankly an amazing album. The highs on this record are really high, but the lows are not very low. The song I enjoyed least was DOOR SWANGIN but I cannot really even say anything negative about it. The album was strong front to back, the production was amazing all throughout and Kenny Mason manages to even dive into different genres than rap, but he does it so well and seemingless it comes natural to him. The features were all great with Paris Texas being my favorite on the track BE WHAT ... read more

aespa - LEMONADE
45

I really like aespa in general so when I saw the high user score so far I was quite hopeful for the album. Well my hope quickly led to me being let down.
WDA was a fun song in general but that G-DRAGON feature really did drag it down quite a bit.
The chorus on Switchblade is so annoying I can't believe it is this popular so far. The Ty Dolla feature was only okay but the coolest part was easily the outro.
Roll is one of the most annoying songs I have heard. The Interpolation that makes up ... read more

Trippie Redd - genre : sadboy

While I'm not gonna argue for the quality of this album, I do absolutely think it is overhated.
Is it tacky? Absolutely.
Is it overly cliche? Yes.
Does it have some bad songs? 100%
This album is not good but it is just boring and unimpressive but the ratings make it seem like this is one of the worst albums of all time. And I disagree with that statement at least.
I actually quite liked beauty, it is catchy.
And like time travel is absolutely not good but a 12/100 rating as a whole is ... read more

mgk - blog era boyz

Well this is not an album I expected. While the album is absolutely not bad it is not really good either. In general it feels like an mgk album that just has a Wiz Khalifa feature on every song so it feels like Wiz is just adapting to whatever mgk is doing and less like a real collab album. Also the production feels quite stale and uninventive throughout the record.
The highlight was easily family > everything with quite good rapping throughout. While in general I enjoy girl next door, it is ... read more

KennyHoopla & Travis Barker - SURVIVORS GUILT: THE MIXTAPE//

I adore this record. silence is also an answer// is among my most listened to songs of all time I and absolutely love every second of it. estella//, turn back time// & hollywood sucks// are amongst my favorite as well. The hooks are infectious and very enjoyable. Unfortunately the record does fall of a bit with the last 3 songs. inside of heaven's mouth, there is a sweet tooth// and 9-5 (love me)// remain quite forgettable for me and lack enjoyabilty and replayability compared to the ... read more

WESTSIDE BOOGIE - More Black Superheroes
90

One of the most influential albums on my modern taste in music. According to Spotify bith AIGHT and STUCK are amongst my 5 most listened to songs of all time. Two more songs made it into my top 100 most listened to of all time. I was in Bratislava with my Dad when it came out and he had to listen to the album the whole vacation because I wouldn't stop playing it. While the album is in no way perfect, mainly SOMETHIN STRANGE is not my favorite, it remains one of my favorite albums I will ... read more

Low Roar - maybe tomorrow...
100

One of the most beautiful albums of all time. I think no song ever made me cry as often as Hummingbird has. Hummingbird might actually be the most touched I have ever been by a song. David, Fucked Up and Bruial Grounds are masterpieces and beautiful, I will never forget. I remember laying on the beach in Madagascar looking at the stars and listening to this album shortly after my grandma passed away. An unforgettable experience.

Freddie Gibbs - RBT
85

Freddie Gibbs with a casual 3/3. The only thing bad about this is that it is less than 10 minutes long. Once I got really immersed it was already over again. I specifically liked Immigrants and the amazing Boi-1da production that absolutely got me floating to a different stratosphere. But Rabbit Mode and Axxtion are also very close in quality. All in all really enjoyable!

Future - WE DON'T TRUST YOU
75

Thank you Pluto and Metro. Looking at this album now after everything that happened in 2024 because of this album it is amazing how much this shook the whole industry. And it has Like That, We Don't Trust You and Young Metro. 3 absolute quality bangers. While the second half of the album does drag on quite a bit, the general quality of Futures rapping stays high and Metros production is great all around.
The only song I really do not like too much is Magic Don Juan. The second half is ... read more

G-Eazy - Freak Show
5

Let me Start of by saying Anxiety sounds like a Dax track. Is G-Eazy the new king of coworker music? Why are all the songs like "creapy clown Joker" type beats? French Montana as a feature is painful to sit through as always. Although it was surprising that any feature could not improve this mess but French Montana proves again why I roll my eyes every time I see his name on a feature list. And what is Femme Fatale? Is this supposed to be a "shaking ass" song? Is it supposed ... read more

G-Eazy - Helium

I haven't listened to much of G-Eazy since 2017 and I have completely stopped after the wreck that is freak show. So my expectations for this album were quite literally 0. So I was very surprised when after the mediocre GRWM, Kiss the Sky started playing and it's...good!!
Like actually good.
So I kept listening and Dream About Me was really sweet and Fight & Fuck really reminded me of the oldschool G-Eazy.
But then it happened.
Nada.
By god this song is bad. The chorus literally ... read more

Curren$y - Spiral Staircases
70

I genuinely wonder how Curren$y manages to drop like 5 albums per year. And when you put him on an album with Larry June and production by The Alchemist, you already know it has to be good at least. Drive Alone and 2.P.I.G did not blow me away but Stars On The Roof and the godly production on Empty Pages certainly did.

Pusha T - DAYTONA
95

Only 7 songs long but so good I wish it was longer. So I just replay it over and over again. An amazing album front to back. Even just choosing my favorite song is difficult. With Santeria, If you know you know, The games we play and Come Back Baby it is almost impossible to choose a favorite. My least favorite is What would Meek do? But least favorite on this album still is like a 8.5/10. This is hery close to a perfect album for my, especially with Pusha T's incredible rapping and ... read more

Isaiah Rashad - IT'S BEEN AWFUL
85

One of my favorite projects this year so far. SAME SH!T has been on repeat constantly, CAMERAS had me floating, HAPPY HOUR is touching and beautiful and I greatly enjoyed the harmony on BOY IN RED. The whole album has a certain laid-back vibe to the production and rapping with SUPAFICIAL maybe having the best rapping performances. Maybe most impressive is the consistency. While I am sure I will not come back to all songs, currently they all are in rotation. Needless to say I was impressed by ... read more

Arcángel - SR. SANTOS
70

My favorite project from Arcangel. Many of the songs like La Jumpa, La Ruta, Bottas, Fendace and PortoBello are still in my rotation today. The album is energetic, the features are great and while it is bloated it does largely remain consistent. Great performance as a whole.

JID - The Forever Story
90

A skipless project from JID leaps him into the coversation of the best rapper at the moment. It includes one of my favorite songs of 2022, Dance Now and delivers hit after hit. JID does a great job of bringing out the best from artists I normally do not enjoy as much, such as 21 Savage. Amazing project as a whole.

JID - God Does Like Ugly
90

Personally, my favorite JID project to date. YouUgly is my personal favorite track on the album but it has so many outstanding performances by him and also the features like Community, VCRs, WRK, and Of Blue. I am interested to continue to watch JID's artistic growth since it does not seem to stop any time soon!

Drake & 21 Savage - Her Loss
55

Surprisingly good. I really expected this album to be quite bad since I do not enjoy 21 Savage's music too much and I assumed they would not match well at all over a whole album, but the chemistry was surprisingly good and songs like Rich Flex and Broke Boys are fun. Still the album is quite bloated and fails to deliver many stand out moments. A good album.
