i haven't logged into this thing forever because pandemic brain but today i desperately needed to be somewhere where i could say "the new Armed sounds like new Loma Prieta" and not just get blank stares from my housemates. Never super loved The Armed before and always always need new Loma so this is an arrangement that works very well for me.
exactly, precisely what i'm after in a modern doom record. massive tone, solid riffs, clever singing & brutal screams, and most importantly, it isn't litigating the past, it's moving boldly forward. more of this sort of behavior please.
stunning. beautiful. like if Funeral era Arcade Fire set their sights on the Springsteen throne, only that would be shit and this is sublime. a lot of "sad" records tell you about their sadness. this one talks to you about yours and holds your hand.
