Really good cover and it is on par with the original, sometimes. Not a particular fan of the last verse but it's more in the Bear Ghost style so I understand why they decided that.
The cover sounds neat, but I just cannot with the repetitive chorus. It's likely the same as the original but I just can't with the annoyingly catchy "Little little microhcips".
I have not heard the original "Paranoid Android", so my review is not comparative. I think this sounds fine. I like a few parts but, especially towards the end, it kind of feels off? The sudden end is a part of why it feels a little weird but overall I like the guitar most of the time and the eerie sound effects in the background during the first verse(s) is atmospheric.
Derailed from the "Bear Ghost sound" which makes sense as it is a collab with Playboy Manbaby.
That said, this single goes kinda hard and is pretty funny. A little basic sometimes, I guess, but I still really like it.
I adore the second half of this album. Not to say the first four songs are bad or even lesser good.
The melodies and lyrics of Ring 5, 4, 3, 2 and 1 just interest me so much more than Ring 8, 7 and 6.
My personal favorite Act out of the 5, but I think IV and V are objectively better.
Holy fuck, dude. Great from beginning to the end.
Probably the best The Dear Hunter album, objectively.
I love it a hell of a lot, and has meant a great deal to me.
The jump from the more standard prog rock Act I - III styles to this orchestral sound is unexpected but so amazing.
Fucking incredibly and beautiful ending.
Without rephrasing others long reviews and adding nothing: the darker theme is amazing, I love "The Haves Have Naught", every song is a banger, and I almost cry everytime I listen to "A Beginning".
The funky sound of the instruments, the effects and the synths used throughout.
E. K. E., Final Dream Machine and Honorary Astronaut wonderfully portrays how Casey Crescenzo feels about his work,.
Gold and Love! Or, The Beast That Looks Like It tell a nice story about love (or the lack of).
I have had Final Dream Machine stuck in my head for the better part of almost a week. I am in awe with this. The Dear Hunter's other work is better, but this little EP is great nonetheless!
I am officially insane. This album is just so eccentric and whimsical. Much more unique than modern music.

Too many people are focusing on the same generic pop music nowadays, so it's nice to hear someone actually putting effort into their art.
