Donuts is a masterpiece. For those who don´t know, here is why:
29 out of the 31 tracks Donuts has to offer were recorded in a hospital. J Dilla was sick for quite some time at this point and when he made this album in summer 2005 he already had been very weak and underwent multiple invasive procedures. honestly just your average japanese metal. Sounds like a 7-8 star osu map. Songwriting bad, vocals average, instrumentals sometimes good.
i enjoyed the listen but was happy when it was over, this album made me feel paranoid and anxious but the quality and some of the sounds are truly impressive! great work for sure, probably wont listen to it again tho
Edit: I am still listening to some songs regularly and love them (60->70)
