really really good and that's shocking coming from me because i've been a big hater of his for a while. i still think his writing is a little corny in this in some places, otherwise this would be rated higher. i'm genuinely curious about whatever project he has coming out next if it's the same quality as this
it's kind of crazy that they released their first EP in 2012 and have not evolved their style (especially in the vocals) in the last 12 years. at least the production is more engaging than usual.
the vocals and lyrics make me think this was intended to be a country song, which makes me wonder WHY she let jack antonoff produce it.
in the best way, this is a great sleep album. nothing really stands out to me aside from "WISHES". the rest of the album is just kind of calming background music. without any big moments for me to latch onto, a couple of the songs blended together and that took away a lot of the listening experience from me. for a debut album, it shows potential and it's clear there's a lot of chemistry between the members.
