What a cool project. There's so much versatility here and despite the language barrier their is so much expression vocally as well as in the instrumental. This is my first project by Malice Mizer so I'm no lore guru but i think it's quite interesting that there's a consensus on subpar vocals in this. The vocalists singing is very raw, in some parts it almost sounds straining, but he is still able to convey incredible range and emotion throughout that the roughness ends up ... read more
It's hard to say something that hasn't already been said about this album. This album is genuine perfection for me. For a very long time it was my favorite album ever made and still sometimes it occupies that space for me. The instrumentals are so beautiful and convey so many different emotions so well and the incredibly raw vocals hit like nothing else I've ever heard.
This album has so many serene and beautiful moments, the title track in particular is actually stunning, and ... read more
this album is incredible. It bridges the gap so well between car seat headrest's solo work and their work as a band. It lacks the concept of twin fantasy and monomania but it still feels a lot more cohesive than nervous young man, making a door less open, or any of the other early works of CSH. I think what this album really does to stand out from the rest of car seat headrests discography is its mastery of their longer runtime songs. Tracks like "the ending of dramamine," ... read more
THIS ALBUM IS SO COOL ! Quadeca really nails the concept he was going for so perfectly, the vocal effects throughout are so ethereal and are very beautiful in a way I didn't expect. There is also a sharp contrast in the instrumentals that create a lot of depth throughout the album but they never feel off base or like a miss. Whether its the sharp, threatening beat on knots or the beautiful, delicate backing instrumental on born yesterday the album offers a lot . Lyrically he hits the nail ... read more
Dude this album is so fun. The unrelenting sounds and absurd vocals are just so enjoyable. There are a lot of moments on songs that are certainly too much, bordering on displeasurable, it resembles static more than music but I think that adds to the charm of the album. I think this album being the thing to popularize hyperpop in the way it did makes sense because behind all the goofiness and absurdity you have a genuinely well made project made by two beyond talented artists. They are so aware ... read more
