While not as lyrically impressive as many other rap projects, it’s fascinating to hear Wiz put forth the effort to rap instead of his more pop-influenced later works. As well as the terrific production by Johnny Juliano plus some really fun high pitched sampling , referred to as Chipmunk Soul , that might be a deterrent to some, however, I think it added to the aesthetic of the album. I seem to be in the minority that his LP from last year is better. Maybe I am a fan of how simplistic in sound that one is compared to him bringing back his hyperpop style into this. It also doesn’t help that its only 13 minutes but as it’s an EP I won’t hate on him for that.

Yeah it is bloated and simplistic in nature. Peep isn’t as present as he should be but MAKKONEN isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. This is completely serviceable with a few standouts like Nasty Names , Favorite Drug , and IDGAF 2. It doesn’t add anything to an already fantastic discography for Peep but hey if he liked than I can’t complain about two bros just having fun together and releasing it for us to enjoy. I’m a huge thug fan and normally like even his bad albums. I cannot say that for this I listened to it 3 times back to back and only remember Money and I only remember that because of My Juice WRLD bias.
