Thank you Anna Von Hausswolff for making the best album of this year. My first 100 from all albums released this year. This was beautiful.
Favorite tracks: The Iconoclast, The Mouth, An Ocean of Time. No worst ones.
The album's pretty good thematically but can't say I enjoyed listening to it much (progressive rock is really not my thing). Moonchild isn't even bad but there was no reason for it to be 12 minutes when it really doesn't give much throughout 10 of those 12 minutes. The Court of the Crimson King was my favorite track here and the only one I might go back to.
Aoty is a joke. No way y'all out here rating and criticizing an album by a 5 year old in full seriousness ..
This is exactly what I would expect from a lead singer of Paramore (haven't listened to them much I'm just going off of impressions)
Production-wise, some tracks are quite interesting but even then not something I personally enjoy (I'm not deducting points based on personal enjoyment and the production is the only reason this is even getting a rating this high). The lyrics are not very creative and at times so cliche.

Fire. Real music right here
what the hell am I listening to, I'm not even going to finish it. I just came here to say that I'm appalled that this has 87/88 rating.
somehow this is worse than the normal album. This woman is perpetuating misogynistic stereotypes without even knowing it under the impression that it's feminist.
Lesions In The Brain is trash but everything else is beautiful.
Can't believe I'm saying this as I came in with pretty low expectations but this is life changing.
This reminds me so much of Diamanda Galas' Plague Mass.
The album is full of interesting and thought provoking themes, lyrics are well written and instrumentals are very creative. That's pretty much all I require from an album.
Often I do not like when artists directly address real world issues because I think it's very difficult to execute that without sounding fake (cough cough MARINA). This for me is an example of a well executed protest album.
Why did no one tell me about this album earlier? Instrumentals are cool as hell.
Haven't listened (beyond couple lyrics), am not planning to, just here to bring down the rating.
