There’s a lot of good going here but it goes very unnoticed. The whole album blend kind of blends together and doesn’t leave you saying “wow” like the past 8 did. I like the consistency with this one but overall it’s an enjoyable album but not a memorable or important album like his previous.
Wow. The “Electric Nebraska” versions of the song are amazing! The live songs are amazing! I love this album! Honestly, this should be one of the holy grails for fans of The Boss. These are some of the greatest what if’s in music. The original haunting version is a masterpiece but it just proves Bruce’s talent that the full band versions of those haunting songs are still amazing and still stick to you.
I thought that it was a very fun album. Had some great stuff going for it and some uninteresting stuff in it. “Who Can It Be Now” and “Down Under” continue to be the best and only must listen songs.
I think that John really delivers here with a real, authentic album. I know he has a lot of bad stuff new or old but he’s just a great songwriter. This ended up being really enjoyable as I started it and was kind of worried by “I Always Lie To Strangers”, as it was kind of cringey. In my opinion this was a worthwhile listen and the songs with The Boss made me so happy.
One thing to add: the queue after the album started with “Rain On The Scarecrow”, and man that ... read more
I popped this on for the morning drive thinking it would just be some slower stories. I was wrong. Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band brings back the life and electricity of albums like “The Rising” and “The River”. I thought that this specific album was really special in a world where live music is not what it used to be and rock bands have been releasing nothing but ass. Nostalgic start to finish, great release, must hear album!
The bonus tracks don’t add to much depth to the album but they are all fun songs that love to crawl in your head and stay there. Bought this on vinyl!
“Magic” is actually very good. The whole E-Street band performs in this one together and creates Bruce’s best album since “The Rising”. It’s super underrated having classics like “Girls In Their Summer Clothes”, an “I’ll Work For Your Love”. The album illustrates Bruce Springsteen’s longevity and timelessness as a singer, songwriter, icon and overall artist.
Is it my personal favorite? No. Is it still outstanding and brilliant? Without a doubt. The first side of the album is just pretty good but side B elevates it to a whole new level. This jazz-rock is such a different sound for Bruce and it pairs great with his timeless melodies.
It was pretty good. It’s one of those songs where you like it the first time you listen to it so you added it to your playlist and that was one of those songs that you just always skip on the playlist.
The Wilburys are charismatic, creative, silly, and dynamic. Easily one of the stacked bands of all time you get the best of pop, folk and roots rock. Great listen! Every song is an A except for “Dirty World”.
Bob Marley continues his career of spreading love and joy to everyone through “Exodus”. This album is an outstanding instant classic and the story behind it just makes it even more special (watch the movie “One Love”) Perfect start to finish.
So bad but hard to just absolutely shit on because it makes me laugh and kind of happy.
Nostalgic for no reason at all. Best song I’ve heard from all the artists in a while.
